As the others suggest, Literally any Toyota, Honda, or Mazda SUV. They all have very solid used options around that price point if you're looking for something reliable. It's just a matter of how much car do you need, what features you want/don't want, safety, etc.

I'm looking for cars that are really good but underpriced for some reason. Any recommendations?
For example, my last car was a Pontiac Vibe which was actually made by Toyota and nearly identical to a Toyota Matrix but cost several thousand dollars less because it didn't have the Toyota name.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Most of the negativity I’ve heard is because they have CVTs but my 2015 one has been fine at almost 200k miles, I just changed the fluids regularly and kept up with all the other recommended maintenance. Most of the ones in my area at or below 50k miles are going for like 15-18k. They’re boring and don’t have the Honda/Toyota popularity or peace of mind, but they’re great if you’re just looking for a basic affordable car that handles well in the snow and gets you from point A to B.
