So my father is looking to buy me a used sedan for college under 10k and he wants it to be a hybrid for the gas savings. Is it worth getting a hybrid over a regular sedan?
Also, what is a good hybrid sedan to get? We were looking at the Camry but it seems to have less power than I'd want. Is the Camry worth getting over say a regular (non hybrid) accord? What are other good options?
We'd prefer under 7/8k but may push to 10 if there's a really good option.

I wouldn’t get a hybrid in the $7k-$10k range. Because of their complexity, the reliability starts to fall off the curve when you get into the high mileage or high age that would put it in your budget. You might get lucky finding a recently replaced battery on a Prius, but those are few and far between. You’re better off getting a Japanese sedan with a regular 4-cylinder motor. Or bump your budget up closer to $20k.
