Hi all. I am going to be lifted a vacuum, so I don't necessarily know what the price range would be, but ill say <$300. I was told to pick out which vacuum I want, and my mom will get it for me. I live in an apartment that's about 650 soft, and is mostly carpet. The small kitchen is linoleum and the bathroom is tile, but the rest is carpet. I do have an aussie mix and she has a double coat and sheds A LOT.

I've really only been looking at a couple different upright bagless vacuums (bissell, shark, and dyson). I have since learned that bagged vacuums are better, but I'm not completely sure why. I am willing to get a bagged or an unbagged upright vacuum, whichever one is better. I am also looking into a vacuum that I can have for years to come, hopefully 10+ years, or if it does break, I can easily get replacement parts. I would also like to get a fully sealed vacuum that is good for allergies. Another plus is if I can take it apart easily to do a deep clean of the machine. With my current vacuum, I do this about every 3 months.

Currently, I am looking into the dyson ball animal 3+ from Sams as my mom got it on sale, but I can always return it and get something better. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

I would say simplicity S20EZM if you want an upright vacuum!

For $350 or less you can get a Commercial Hoover Hushtone + bagged upright. It is about the best vacuum you can buy in that price range. It is built for hard daily commercial / hospitality / janitorial use. Everything about it is industrial strength. It has a hose and spotting wand for grabbing things in corners or for above floor cleaning. It has two speeds, a solid durable wooden brush roll that won't warp or melt if it gets hot. The brush roll is spun by a lifetime belt. It is made for easy service in the field, no special tools for brush roll changes. There are two grades of dust bag, one that is cheap white paper that I really don't recommend and their yellow "Allergen" bag that is paper on the outside but is synthetic microfiber inside. Those can be bought on line in boxes of ten bags for around $25. One box should last a year because the bags are pretty big. It comes with a 40 foot long cord that is basically a standard three prong extension cord plugged into a short cord at the handle. If you damage the original cord, just unplug it and put another extension cord on. Easy.
