What is the best recording and editing app or program for a beginning YouTuber? Looking to create a channel as a hobby in my retirement.
I NEED a editing software thats not premium to do anything, (dont say resolve)

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for the best free video editor app — something that’s easy to use but still gives good control over transitions, text, and effects.
I usually edit short-form videos (reels, YouTube Shorts, and gaming clips) on my phone, but I don’t mind using a desktop version if it’s worth it
Been using capcut app on my phone and it is actually pretty great. But it gets annoying trying to do everything on the phone only. What do you use to edit your videos?
Hey! Me and my friends recently started a vlog channel and I’m the editor, currently I’m using capcut however it’s very laggy when I edit longer videos the more I edit it, was wondering if there’s any better editing apps I can get on my phone (I don’t have access to a computer or anything and I would prefer not to spend my money on any apps)
What's the best free video editing software for beginners? I want to start making videos, preferably something that's also good for longer videos, around 10 minutes
Hello, im MCG and i'm looking for an editing app to edit my videos...
I was formerly using Cap Cut for editing but the app's "freeness" itself is slowly withering away like the features such as audio extraction and transitions who are once free now is locked behind a subscription, and currently the app has now forced people to put a capcut watermark on the extracted video unless you pay for their subscription.
Hi, I need video editing software recommendations. I was using Windows Movie Maker and it worked great but my old computer is crapping out and my new computer doesn't have a video editing software installed. Everything I find costs a lot or is a subscription which I can't afford or has a watermark or poor resolution unless you pay. I bought a fairly nice camera so I'd really rather not compromise on chosing a poor resolution because I can't pay that much more.
So I would really appreciate any recommendations. I've been holding onto my old computer that just crashes for no reason constantly because I can't find good video editing software. I'd love to find something good and finally be done with my old computer (which I don't think will hang on much longer anyway).
I mostly post reviews and writing vlogs so I don't need a lot of features either. Inserting an image into the video would be nice but isn't necessary. Text is good too, but other than that, I just need something to edit my clips that won't mess up the resolution or have a huge distracting watermark.
The ones I find seem sketchy or they cant handle videos over 30 minutes (without a subscription), Im trying to find one that preferably has a small watermark or no watermark, is easy to use since I'm new to video editing, and is free.
I currently use cap-cut but I wanna switch to something else. any suggestions?
Just starting out, have no experience with video editing. The videos will mostly be still images, both photos and computer images, and I'd like to include some video clips also, and also a voice over
What's something easy to get to grips with, and free?
EDIT - Cheers for the replies guys. This is by far the most responsive sub I've ever posted in, never had so many answers.
I mean TikTok has a really good video app within it. what do you use for Youtube? Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
Hi!
I want to start doing content creation and want to make long-form type video essays. I’m remiss on what software to use for that other than Adobe (which is too expensive for me to afford) and CapCut (which I feel is really juvenile and you have to subscribe to access their video editor anyway).
I wanted to ask google but I don’t wanna be swayed by possibly sponsored articles.
What are some good editing softwares that aren’t too expensive or free. If it helps I’m also a soon to be college student, I know some softwares give discounts.
Thank you in advance!! :D
Hey guys, I’m completely new to the Youtube world and have been amazed by quality contents since they’re entertaining and also creative. I want to integrate myself in that category and I’ve been recording a good number of contents recently.
Unfortunately for me, I haven’t been able to add any captions to any of my videos (Youtube mentioned something like “shorts” as if the way I’ve recorded {selfie video} can only be properly edited if it comes as a ahort while most videos are at least 12-22mins long). That’s why I was hoping any of you to please help me resolve this problem by sharing a free video app whose projects can also be saved automatically on my phone (icloud storage ran out).
And for the ones I risked sharing, the quality came out 240p/480p. Is there anything that can be done for that as well?
So I'm trying to create my first ever video but I dont know what video editing tool should I use. I already have a pretty solid plan on what I want the video to look like. Anyone got any suggestions ? (edit : im on Mac)
Before you say it, no, I'm not using Capcut, it has been worse and worse over the years. I have also been searching for a while for one of these apps but couldn't find one. Maybe you could tell me one that I could use. I think something like DaVinci is alright, but maybe not too complicated, but if it comes to it, I might use a complicated one
I’m completely new to this and just recently started a YouTube channel - I’ve only used TikTok before… well, only for about 6 weeks, really.
What’s the best PC editing software for videos? I just bought a new camera and really want to give this a proper try. It’s definitely a steep learning curve, and I don’t have much experience with filming or editing yet… but you have to start somewhere!
I managed to get 40 subs and 30K views in my first week just from posting Shorts. But I’d love to learn how to make long-form videos as well.
Also, I’m a bit scared of making videos where I talk. English isn’t my first language, so my accent and the possibility of mispronouncing words makes me nervous. Is that even something people really care about, or am I just overthinking it?
Any tips or recommendations are very appreciated! ❤️
