We were in the same boat earlier this year - felt like no matter what brand we looked at there were horror stories in the reviews. After a lot of back and forth we went with the Electrolux laundry tower ( the one with SmartBoost ) as it was voted best washer and dryer 2024 on a forum. So far it’s been great, it’s efficient, super quiet, and doesn’t beat up our clothes. Plus the stacked design actually makes sense (no weird bending or balancing acts to swap loads). The build quality feels solid and the SmartBoost feature really does help get stains out without loads of detergent. Haven’t had to call customer service yet (knock on wood) but the install process was smooth and everything worked out of the box. Answer from tillmang on reddit.com

I’m currently on the market for a new front load washer/dryer set and according to the average reddit user, every single brand out there is garbage and has poor customer service. Is there still a brand/model in 2024 that’s decently reliable, has parts available, a decent costumer service that processes warranty claims in a timely manner and that doesn’t cost a fortune? I was looking at Electrolux or LG sets. They both seem pretty good but I read mixed reviews about both. Some people say that Electrolux is one of the best brands today while others say the complete opposite, same goes for LG and every other brand. Even at a higher price bracket (Speedqueen, Bosch, Miele) I’ve seen posts/comments complaining about the quality and costumer service. So… What’s to buy in 2024? Should I just get what has the features I want within my budget while avoiding obvious lemons? Should I spend the extra 1k$ to get a premium brand? Should I get an extra warranty? Should I give up and wash my clothes in the river with a washboard?

Discounts just increased for the LG WashCombo. It'll take some adjustment to get used to how the heat pump drying works instead of baking clothes, but I believe with discounts the price is now just under $2k which may actually make it cheaper than some sets. Definitely cheaper over time if you factor in the lifestyle enhancement of being able to put a load of clothes in before going to bed and waking up to them being dry. Washer maintenence review suggested the extended warranty because the heat pump is a new design, but the washer system is proven technology with LG's ten year warranty on the motor. Also suggested a pedestal because of the location of the filters that need changed. It additionally sprays jets into the clothes which is an enhancement to cleaning over them just rubbing against each other.

LG, speedqueen Everything else is kinda ass. The duet was a solid machine for years but whirlpool had done everything in its power to ruin their product. Whirlpool can get fucked for removing the drain access panel from many models. I no longer recommend them
