Why can I still hear some sounds through noise canceling headphones?
Noise canceling is great for blocking out consistent sounds, so the microphones have time to detect the sound and cancel it out. Loud, sudden noises are too quick to be properly canceled out, so you’ll still hear these unless you have really good passive isolation.
How do I connect Bluetooth headphones to my work computer?
Make sure you put your headphones into pairing mode, which is different for each pair of headphones. Open up settings on your computer, and find the Bluetooth settings menu. There should be a list of devices, and the headphones should show up as a device to connect to. Click on the name of the headphones in the menu, and you should connect almost instantly.
How can I make my mic sound better for calls?
Making sure you’re in a quiet environment helps a lot. Environmental noise like construction, wind, traffic, or others talking might interfere with your voice over the microphone. You can also adjust your mic levels in the sound settings on your computer if you’re too quiet or loud.
Both my wife and I work as online teachers, so we spend multiple hours per day on Zoom calls. When we travel, we are often in noisy environments or have to be in the same room while we're both teaching. We currently use the headphones that came with our iPhones but we're looking to upgrade as they don't deal very well with background noise.
The headphones need to be closed back (we find them far more comfortable), wired, and with noise cancelling on both the headphones and the microphone. Budget is $100 or less per set but if it's worth spending more, we can. They won't be used to listen to music or anything, purely for videoconferencing. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
I'm a PM and like to work at a noisy coffee shop near my house a few hours a week. Looking for a wired headset with a really good mic to cancel out ambient noise.
Is there any know absolute best here? Price isn’t an issue for me I just want the very best in this category.
Hi all, I’ve been WFH for over 2 years now and pretty soon am going to be spending a lot more time working from coffee shops. I’m in tech sales and have a few calls per day with prospects. I need a good pair of headphones that will block out any background noise so when I’m speaking on the call, the prospect only hears me and not coffee shop music/chatter etc.
Currently use AirPods Pro but the mic definitely does not block a ton of background noise. Any recommendations?
Thanks!
