Hi r/mac community!
I'm looking for a solid wireless keyboard and mouse combo to use with a MacBook Air (mostly for productivity, web browsing, lots of typing, and some light editing). I'm especially interested in finding something with a good price-to-performance ratio.
Here are my preferences:
Full compatibility with macOS (shortcuts, gestures, etc.)
Bluetooth connection (preferably no USB dongles)
Comfortable and durable design
Ideally matches the Apple aesthetic
Reasonably priced — not necessarily the cheapest, but worth the cost
I've looked into the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse, as well as some Logitech options (like the MX Keys and MX Master), but I’m unsure which one really delivers the best value.
Any recommendations or experiences you'd be willing to share?
Thanks in advance!
I'm looking for a keyboard for my new MacBook. So far I've always used a PC keyboard, but it's cumbersome. I've read that Logitech makes good Mac keyboards, but I wanted to ask the community.
The only criteria: It must have USB-C and Bluetooth

This is mainly for those who do use them for their work since you’re more likely to want something either more comfortable or feature rich than a casual user. At work i have a mac studio and they gave me a generic windows logitech keyboard and magic mouse which i couldn’t stand so i brought in one of those old Apple Pro Keyboards and i forgot how much i like this keyboard. It’s just really comfortable to me and a lot harder to accidentally press a key compared to the magic keyboard my imac at home has. One thing im surprised apple doesn’t have is a backlit keyboard since i like to work in the dark in my office, but since there’s usb ports on the back of the keyboard i put one of these little lights on it lol.
I’m curious what non apple ones you all are using. I’d imagine touchID is what keeps a lot of people on the magic keyboard because that’s why i can’t justify replacing my keyboard at home (that, and i still want it color matched)
I’m shopping around and trying to see what people like the most. I tried the Magic Mouse and for some reason I didn’t like how it felt. Any input / links will be very helpful. Thanks in advance
Hello,
I am looking for a nice Mac keyboard that works well for 60% office use (writing mails and texts, but if spreadsheet, etc), 30% video editing (da Vinci and premiere), ans 10% programming (vs code, Xcode).
I already have a Logitech Mx 3 mouse and I like it, tried the craft and mini and they were fine, but explicitly don’t necessarily need one from Logitech.
Open to any brands, should be wireless with backlight and available in Europe.
I quite like the original M1 Pro keyboard. Doesn’t have to be full sized, small keyboard is better for traveling, and you have more room on the desk but on the other hand, you have a numpad that could be useful.
I’m looking forward to your suggestions, thank you very much! 😊
I have been searching on Amazon, but I can't find anything. I already have both the magic keyboard with and w/o a numpad, I simply got bored of them.
I am looking for a keyboard that is creamy sounding, high profile, has cool lights, and for the love of god has a command key in the correct spot. The only thing I've found have been the Keychron keyboards, but I really don't want to shell out $200 on a keyboard for Mac.
Does anyone know of any keyboards that might fit this criteria? or maybe can someone help me build one (cause i dont know where to even start).
I’m looking to replace my Logitech Windows Keyboard with a Mac keyboard. I’m not sure whether to go with a Bluetooth or wired. I like the Logitech MX but it’s a little pricey. Recommendations?
Hello ppl it’s been around 6-7 months since I purchased my m4 which is pretty amazing and I bought midnight so it’s quite annoying me with that finger print issue so though of buying keyboard in which it’ll cool me down suggest me some budget friendly options
Hello everyone!! I just got my first Mac Mini M4, and although my HyperX keyboard works great, I'd like something new, specifically designed to work with macOS. Which, in your personal experience, is the best keyboard and mouse for macOS?
P.S. I'm writing a lot. I don't play games. I love LED lighting.
I'm looking for a wireless keyboard to use with my MacBook Pro. I've tried the Logitech k380, but it's too compact - my fingers are tripping over each other. I don't need a full-size keyboard that includes a number pad, though. Are there any good in-between options, in terms of size? Are there good wireless keyboards that are roughly the size of the MacBook keyboard?
Thanks!

This isn't the right subreddit for this question, this subreddit is for posting photos of your current setup. (You can get around this by posting a photo of your current setup, and putting in the comments "I'm not happy with my current keyboard, any suggestions?" which is perfectly valid.) Try r/mac, r/applehelp, r/keyboards, the MacRumors Forums, or the like.

Keyboards are VERY personal - I'd try to find a store near you that has multiple keyboard and try them in person. That said, the Apple Magic Keyboard is about as close as you can get to the MacBook Pro keyboard if you want absolute consistency.
If you're into mechanical keyboards,
- Try Keychron, or Royal Kludge (RK71 is best bridge between full size and compact 60%'s)
If budget keyboard is needed with all the mac keycaps as is on your macbook,
Try Targus KB55 series. Best bang for the buck. Have been using one in my design studio since 2 years. One button met with issues, the brand sent a new one. Battery life is great, too.
Key travel is better than Logi K380, feels mostly like using a pre-2015 Macbook keyboard. Plus, it being same size and layout as a macbook air 2017, you can pull a TPU cover just to ensure it survives longer than it's supposed to.
Hope it helps!
Do you have any recommendations for wireless mechanical keyboards that are great for MacOS?
I have been looking at the Keychron keyboards but wasn't sure if there were any other alternatives to compare them to.
I appreciate all the help.
I want to buy a nice wireless keyboard for my new macbook air. Any suggestions for budget and value for money keyboards out there excluding keychron and apple magic keyboard
I think my posture looking down at my laptop isn’t helping my headaches.
I am looking for a wireless keyboard so that I can put my laptop at eye level on a computer stand.
I saw there is an option from Logitech that seems a little cheaper than the Apple keyboard https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/combos/k380-m350-mac-keyboard-mouse-combo.log-macoamr.html
Has anyone used this? Or have other recommendations?
So I am still waiting for the arrival of my 16gb/512gb mba m1 and I am trying to find a good wireless keyboard and mouse to go with it. I have looked at the Apple products and they look extremely nice, but also very pricey (almost $200 for the set). I have also seen a lot of other brands and models that are wireless and Mac compatible but not sure what to pick honestly.
Anyone have any good recommendations?
Hi all,
I'm currently looking for an external keyboard for my MacBook Air. I definitely want to have Mac keys instead of having the Windows symbols printed on the keys.
I think the Magic Keyboard is too expensive as it doesn't have any additional features, right?
I've already found some candidates, does anyone have experience with them?

Hey guys, so I'm gonna be getting the MBP by the end of this week. I wanted to know, If I should get a keyboard and mouse for it or it's not needed. As I'm a college student, I'm only gonna use it for my college stuff and movies. Is it too extra or do people use that stuff?
Hello guys,
I'm on a budget, what bluetooth keyboard can you suggest for my Macbook Pro M1? My work is mainly writing, cheap keyboards are probably not that ergonomic but drop your suggestions below along with its price.
Also, I can't seem to use alt+tab as an alternative for command+tab in two of the external wired keyboards that I've tried. Is it possible for the keyboard to have native commands sa apple?
