How should a women's suit fit?
Achieving a comfortable fit is crucial to looking and feeling your best, especially in a piece as traditional and tailored as a suit. Wondering how to make sure your suit fits? Start by checking for a snug fit that doesn't feel too restrictive. When buttoning your blazer, there shouldn't be any pulling or gaping, and the jacket sleeves should end right around your wrists, with the shoulders aligning with where your arm and shoulders meet.
Your suit pants should sit comfortably around your waist, with the legs lightly draping and tapering, neither too tight or loose to ensure freedom of movement. The pant's ankle notch should line up around your own ankle.

What type of suit for women should you wear to a wedding?
Curious about what to wear to a wedding? A woman's pantsuit is an excellent choice, as it can easily be worn to cocktail, semi-formal, and formal affairs. For casual weddings, such as beach and garden party wedding themes, draw on the environment of the event with a women's tan suit or light blue suit that exudes a relaxed appearance that still feels appropriate and dressed up. For formal ceremonies, stick to the classics, like a women's black suit, that give a touch of elegance and timeless style.
When deciding on your wedding look, consider the dress code listed on the invitation to ensure you match the ambiance. For events requesting black-tie wedding guest attire, for example, you may want to reach for a women's black tuxedo or evening gown that demonstrates timeless elegance. You can always layer a suit or tuxedo jacket over a wedding guest dress to style your look, too.
How do you style a woman's suit?
What makes women's suits a wardrobe staple is their versatility. Suits for women can be dressed up or down to match any occasion, whether you're suiting up for a formal evening, a relaxed date night, or anything in between.
Keep it professional with a women's navy suit that's work-appropriate and can be paired with a simple navy or contrasting black turtleneck and heels or boots. Or, go fun and flirty with a burnt orange suit for women and a graphic tee underneath for a night on the town with your friends.
For weddings and events, consider styling your suit with more formal accessories like shell tops or button ups, jewelry, and loafers or pumps.
At SuitShop, our suit jackets and pants are sold separately, so you can get your best fit and easily mix and match your pieces to create multiple outfits for various types of events. To pull your ensemble together, finish with a few statement accessories, such as a simple gold chain necklace, clutch bag, and hoop earrings.

High-end work suits for women
Agreed on the Theory. I have been surprised with some J. Crew stuff -- their overall quality can be a bit hit and miss, but I am generally pleased with the suiting. The cuts are certainly flattering. How 'high end' it is is open to debate and I would put it a notch below Theory, but it is certainly nicer than most of the stuff out there.

It is very hard to find women’s suits that come in a variety of colors, are well fit and a bit fashion forward. Karen Millen (phot of those worn by Emily Blunt in Pain Hustlers) used to make suits like this but now they are drab and baggy. Who do you love?
