Enameled cast iron is close. Nothing is nonstick but nonstick pans. You could get nonstick and treat them carefully then dispose when they get a scratch. I use soft silicone utensils only and hand wash my 1 nonstick pan (for eggs) with a cloth sponge (handi wipes). I’ve used it daily for 2 years and it only has a few superficial scratches. Nothing dangerous. I will get a new one the moment i see an actual scratch. More on reddit.com

I have gone through a couple in the last year that degraded quickly even though I don't use metal utensils on them. A cast iron pot would be a lot of work and more cumbersome to move and store. I also have a stainless steel pot that everything seems to stick to no matter what.
Any suggestions for pots that don't degrade/scratch easily and work well for most cooking needs?

What do you mean by “pot”? Most pots are used for boiling liquids, and thus don’t generally have an “everything sticks to them” problem. I find enameled Dutch ovens to be most versatile for stews and such, although if you don’t like the weight I’m not sure what the next best option is if not stainless steel. If you mean more like a fry pan or skillet, then what you want is probably carbon steel. Similar to cast iron in terms of performance and care, but lighter.

I am currently using cast iron and it’s so difficult to keep clean (I prob don’t use it correctly tbh). I’m just looking for something easy to maintain, that’s non stick, will last for a while, and more importantly, that doesn’t have harsh chemicals. I always hear about non sticks having such toxic chemicals it makes me sick. Any suggestions that meets my requirements? Open to mixing and matching.
