Is Bitwarden not user-friendly for people that don't use password managers much?
Bitwarden gives you a lot of options that you do not need to use. Its interface isn’t the prettiest but is functional. My 80 years old mom uses Bitwaden. It’s set up to do auto fill and 2fa. Her browser extension is set never to log out. These are not the most secure settings but on a Chromebook with encrypted storage it’s a good trade off for a person who can barely type in her master password. My mom have trouble turning on her computer so if she can use bitwaden anyone can. More on reddit.com

Is Bitwarden a good choice?
Yes, Bitwarden is a good alternative. I assume by double authentication you mean some form of multi-form authentication to login. Bitwarden supports this as well. More on reddit.com

Bitwarden : my experience on Android. How is yours ?
Samsung Internet is annoying with 3rd party password managers. When opening a link through Gmail for example, it opens in a "custom tab" (all android browsers do this for years now). When Samsung Internet does that, it serves Bitwarden with its package name instead of the website, making autofill impossible. It will happen with any password manager that isn't Samsung Pass (and maybe Google's?). Weird. Make sure you're URI detection settings are correct, and that everything was imported correctly from 1password. The experience for me is fairly good. My two problems is that the vault keeps locking immediately even though that's not what I chose in the settings, and that card/identity autofill aren't possible (but that's Android's fault AFAIK). Reasons for and against using Bitwarden as both a credentials manager and authenticator?
It boils down to two stances: Do you want to trade some extra security for convenience? Do you want to have extra security along with some inconvenience? I personally consider my security strong enough that if someone manages to break into my vault I would have admire them for being able to. At the end of the day, all the other ways they could get their hands on my credentials, would lead them to get my 2FA codes as well, like gaining physical unrestricted access to my devices, or gaining my backups and being able to crack their encryption. The other ways would be with spyware and other tactics that would put those things at risk even when used separately. I don't use separate devices regardless, since I can't just carry around two phones with me for example, and the most important accounts have a physical hardware key associated to them along with a salt, which makes it pointless to get the password and gives me enough time to change them in the event something goes down. 99% of the situations I would know I have been compromised, which would allow me to react to an incident happening before any sort of damage would be done. I would advice you to devise a plan for yourself on how you would deal with those things as well. Don't expect to never be compromised, but rather think what you would do in case of it happening and how can you react. If you think you can't react in time if your 2FA are in the same vault, then consider splitting them up. Personally, I am comfortable to keep those things together. The only two reasons why I would think your 2FA code didn't work with kraken is because of your system's time not being synced. From time to time you have to do it manually on some systems as it can get out of sync with the global time server. The other reason is that kraken may be using a different 2FA algorithm, but I don't have the details on that. More on reddit.com

r/Bitwarden on Reddit: Is Bitwarden not user-friendly for people that don't use password managers much?
November 17, 2023 -

I'm reading some f the posts here and it feels like there's a steep learning curve to using this and it's not intuitive like say Roboform or Nordpass. Of those two I prefer Roboform, but even with Nordpass I literally just installed the program, logged in with my Nord login and set everything up easily. It imported everything from Roboform, and any sites it detects as new it saves those logins.

Here I'm reading about how you have to set various master passwords using different types of encryption, multiple layers of security, etc. I just need to organize passwords, not to protect millions in assets.
