I did a deep dive on belts on here's how I found things. First you have super cheap belts you'd find on a rack at any store. Plasticky leather, will look nice for a bit but then degrade. Then there's "designer" belts - priced MUCH higher but only slightly better materials. Neiman's, etc, any designer brand that doesn't focus on leather goods will have a $200-500 "genuine leather" belt to sell you. Then there's nicer belts that r/buyitforlife would recommend. Popov leather, Hank's, 1,000 stores on etsy will sell you a nice basic full grain leather belt for $100 or a bit less. I've bought these before but a lot of them are very thick and might not work with all outfits, but will definitely last a long time. I've ended up buying from belts.com and they have full grain leather at a cheaper price. Finishing is not great (edges are not burnished and leather is a bit "fuzzy") but it's not a bad thing for me.
