I'm officially over the Black Friday hype. It used to feel like a sale, now it feels like a prank.

Ive been watching a coffee machine, a kids tablet and some headphones for a few weeks. In October the coffee machine was about $129. Black Friday early deal shows up and suddenly it's "$159 now $139 LIMITED TIME". Bro, I saw $129 on that page like 2 weeks ago.The kids tablet went from around $79 to $89 with a Holiday Deal tag. The "deal" is paying extra for a yellow label

I've been doing Black Friday hunting for 10 plus yrs and it's only gotten worse, fake doorbusters, fake urgency, fake "original" prices. It honestly feels like they're A/B testing how cooked our brains are as long as the button screams "53% OFF".

So now I just buy when I need something and let a Chrome extension called Task Monkey babysit my Amazon orders. Last month it clawed back $72 from stuff sold as "Black Friday preview pricing" becasue the price dipped again right after.
