I see Black Friday ads every year with 65 inch TVs for like 300-400 dollars and I always wonder if they're actually watchable or just cheap panels that look terrible. My budget is tight, ideally under 500 for a 65 inch, but I also don't want to buy something that's going to have awful picture quality and die in a year. Brands like Hisense, TCL, and random ones I've never heard of dominate the budget category but I can't tell if they're decent value or just landfill electronics.

Has anyone bought a budget 65 inch TV during Black Friday and been happy with it long term? Or do you regret cheaping out and wish you'd saved up for a better brand? What's the minimum you should spend to get a TV that doesn't suck?
