Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S07E03 - Hotel Reverie
Everything inside the VR system I really liked, such a moving story. Being stuck for weeks if not months in a frozen hotel would have been insane but they had each other. Then being ripped back and expected to carry on like nothing happened. Brutal! Everything outside the system I hated. All the staff sucked, there is no way they would only get one take, a studio even one in so much debt would be able to get a room for the whole day, not just two random hours to time crunch them. They really expected an actress to memorize every single line for a main roll and nail it on the first go in like one day or a handful of days. It is like the script was written by someone who knows nothing about theatre or film making. More on reddit.com

unpopular opinion: I loved Hotel Reverie and I love the casting
I didn't know any of the actresses before (I'm not from the US) and I thought both were good. It feels like people from the US hate Issa for other reasons or know her in a different context and are projecting. I have never seen Issa before and she was ok. Her being out of place in the movie setting and struggling to act on the set was part of the plot. More on reddit.com
Hotel reverie. Black mirror has done it again
it actually broke my heart when they reset back to the scorpion scene, and Brandi lost those months with her love in just seconds. i know people are ragging on her acting but i think her acting actually was so fucking good, she seemed so dead inside afterwards. She was just going through the motions, listening to what they told her to do and say, and in the final scenes when Carla dies for her??? OMGGGG my heart. i’m just a sucker for sapphic love. and omg when carla goes through the barrier and she discovers all the data on herself??? and you see the STRONG implications of how she was in the closet for so many years??? god so sad. this was a great episode More on reddit.com

April 10, 2025 - One of Black Mirror's best episodes is "San Junipero," another romance between women who meet in an unreal space, and this lovely story, in which Corrin makes a very convincing 1940s actress, pairs well with it.
