Ideas for a 1950s themed kitchen floor
Thrilled with this peel and stick!!
Kitchen Backsplash - Peel and Stick Tiles or individual tile install?
I wouldn't trust a peel and stick product long term honestly. You're at the mercy of the lifespan of the adhesive, and any imperfections on the wall surface will limit that. Mortar is much more forgiving and long lasting.

Hi!
Purchased my first home recently, it’s a 1950s ranch in the Midwest.
Most of the house is actually original, which I love, but the family I purchased it from did a total overhaul in the kitchen within the last two years and the entire thing is white. White walls, white cabinets, white terrazzo countertop, etc.
What I’m hoping to do is put a little 1950s whimsy back into it without doing anything major since it was just remodeled. I prefer to not paint the cabinets. So far, I swapped out the cabinet knobs from standard circular silver pulls to more bespoke antique brass pulls. Then, after looking at a lot of photos of 1950s kitchens and realizing pink and green were used heavily, I put a scalloped pink backsplash.
But I’m completely stuff on the flooring… it’s currently white tile right now and I don’t want to rip it out, so I’m going to try peel and stick. I’m not minding much of anything that really speaks to me.
Does anyone have any good ideas of what I could do here? I still need to tie green in somehow… would green tile look cute or is that too much? What about the standard black and white checkered tile?
Just hoping to bounce some ideas around with y’all. Thank you!
New light fixtures and a little peel-n-stick later, finally getting a little personality into our primary bathroom! So impressed with how these Smart Tiles turned out!
