I don’t think I’m gonna be giving blade hq any more of my money. Apologies for the incoming rant but it’s ridiculous.
In September of 2023 I ordered a lionsteel sr-22 as a gift for my uncle, ordered it 3 weeks in advanced as I figured this would be enough time. After almost 2 weeks and not a single update on the tracking I decided to cancel the order. When I tried to cancel the order the website said that they were unable to process and to instead call Customer service. Did that and everything went well and ordered the knife from Amazon instead and it arrived flawlessly.
Fast forward to January of this year and I sign on to my blade hq account only to find that it has been suspended and I was unable to use my reward points or place an order. After calling customer service they told me that in September of 2023 I had made a chargeback for a knife they delivered. After showing the customer service rep that they had it wrong and that I cancelled the order through their website before it even shipped they reinstated my account.
Months go by and just when I think I’m all good earlier this week (coincidentally trying to order another knife as a gift) I sign on to find my account suspended again and this time after asking customer service they say that there were MULTIPLE chargebacks in the month of September despite my only order that entire month being the sr-22. Since that was the case they had to permanently close my account.
Any recommendations for new websites?

What is "Blade HQ?"
Can I sell my knives on Blade HQ?
Okay, okay... but what does Chat GPT think about Blade HQ?
First time knife purchase as a mature collector just starting my journey. My purchase with blade went horrible from the beginning. Their system wasn’t taking my payment, when I finally could place my order it fell thru the cracks and I had to reach out yet again to get it shipped out. When I finally received my blade it came in rough condition. I was about to just take the hint and give up on my new hobby but decided to give them a chance to make it right. They patiently went thru my issues one by one and ended up sending me a duplicate blade, refunded my initial purchase and even let me keep this one. With all of that in mind I’m wondering how the rest of the community feels about this knife shop. What are your stories?
I've been looking for trustable places, and sometimes blade HQ just gives me a shady vibe for some reason. What are your experiences with it? Is it the most trustable knife store online? Thanks for the feedback.
I preordered the Spyderco Smock back in February 2018. I got an email in March this year saying my order was submitted. I follow up 3 weeks later asking what the status is. They responded saying not all the orders were processed but there’d be a shipment in May that would cover almost all remaining orders.
End of May comes so I email them again asking if I’m going to get my knife. They responded saying that they reached out to me in March to complete the order and I did not respond so they canceled my order. Their March email didn’t have any instructions to complete the order, it just looks like an invoice.
How did this process go for you guys that got your Smocks from BHQ? Did they ask you to complete the order? I’m pissed because if I would’ve known, I would’ve done it and it seems like they are screwing me over.
UPDATE: Apparently my credit card expired during the wait for the knife, and they sent me an email (that I never got but possibly sent to spam) asking me to update my credit card. They didn’t tell me the credit card issue when I followed up with them but whatever, case closed.
UPDATE2: They’re going to send me the knife free of charge when they get it in stock. I’m a happy camper.
Bladehq has really been dropping the ball CS wise.
They better shape up since there is no shortage of other reputable knife retailers
I'm never doing another preorder for a knife. I had a bad experience with the para 3 lw. Not as bad as yours but I preordered mine when it was first offered. Then the knives started rolling in and bladehq was silent. I watched ever other knife retailer get shipments of the para 3 lw in and then go out of stock several times over and still no word from blade hq. Finally I emailed them and ranted about them taking more preorders than they can actually fill. They basically ignored my frustration and complied with my Request to cancel the order. But it really is poor CS. Sure it makes them more money by offering a preorder but what is the point of preordering something if you're not gonna be amongst the first people to recieve it? Its utterly pointless to do business with them when it comes to new knives unless it's a sprint specific to bladehq or you just wait till you see what you want in stock and buy it. Preorders are bullshit.
I ordered a knife and the only thing I got was the sheath in the box , My contacted them they were nothing but rude explained that the knife would never have shipped with just the sheath I bought thousands of knives from all different places never had any issues I ordered one time from blade HQ and I should have read more reviews on them but their customer service is trash this is not in a very expensive knife it was an $80 knife they acted like it was the end of the world talk to me like I was a thief, Like I said I own heretic, microtech, Benchmade and Spyderco and the list goes on and on and on if I was going to steal something it sure wouldn't be an $80 knife, but never again
Update - Blade HQ reached out and took care of everything, refunded the purchase price, let me keep the defective knife, and passed along a $30 gift card for my troubles.
No. I have had pleasant experiences with them. Often slower handling portion prior to shipping than what I would like. But no issues when I have called to ask about orders or other items.
DLT Trading wouldn’t let that happen to you. Fuck Blade Hq, I’ve had similar experiences.
I wanted confirm that BladeHQ.com is a reputable company before making an online purchase. I've read where people have received reproductions and seconds from Amazon and would like to avoid a similar experience. Thanks in advance.
I ordered a CRK Inkosi in Magnacut with carbon fiber inlays. I received a confirmation email and the money left my account.
After a few days of not receiving a tracking number I emailed them asking for an update. I was fed a story about a third party not approving the order and my order was canceled AFTER they took the money. They promised a refund which I've yet to receive. These are not good business practices in my book.
I've heard about all the shipping issues they've had in the past few months but this really brought their issues to light. It's obvious they oversold the knife and because I asked for an update I became the perfect candidate to lie to and get the short end of the stick. I've ordered from them many times in the past but today they certainly lost a customer.
Just trying to give you guys a heads up. BladeHQ is in bad shape right now. Buyers beware!
