Blue is OK as a character, but bad as a Jurassic franchise Velociraptor. The idea of having a smart predators being raised since its hatching and growing to recognize and follow commands is also OK. It could be well incorporated into the plot and I think it doesn't harm Jurassic World as much, especially when we see that they can be volatile. The I. rex isn't my favorite (but it's the best use of a hybrid) and I think they overdid it too. Anyway, back to Blue. I like that she's particularly smart. The problem is that she becomes one of the good guys and becomes, as I said, an actual character. She's too humanized. And, being the sole Raptor alive, she takes away all the savagery and risk that the species represents, particularly not being part of a pack. In Jurassic Park, the Raptors were always animal antagonists, and they're much, much more dangerous. More on reddit.com

There are both grayish blue and brownish orange carapaced versions that are speculated to be dimorphism.
