I just got an email saying that bluebird will be discontinued in a year. This card has enabled me to do a lot online, and didn't charge a lot in fees. Any recommendations for an alternative? Preferably one I can easily refill and that has the ability to create subaccounts?

It's not just Bluebird... Amex seems to be shutting down their entire reloadable card division, because I just got a similar email about 30 minutes ago about how they will be discontinuing Amex Serve cards on June 3, 2026.

On September 10th 2024 American Express is discontinuing Goals, Subaccounts, AMEX Offers, and Bluebird Checks too. I got an email yesterday from American Express that said that they are getting rid of all these features. I wonder why they are getting rid of all these features. I think that it's awful that these great features are going to be gone soon. What does everyone else think about this? How many of you use all of this features? I'm thinking of getting a new Debit Card because of this but I don't of any good options besides American Express to be honest with you.

It's 100% because Amex already has a debit card of its own and wants to focus on that.

I wonder if it’s due to Amex having a debit account? I opened mine recently and got a 4x $2/1 PT for 31 days. I don’t mind the account if I actually pay attention to it. I wish transfers were easier. I wish it had more features. Returns take DAYS

dhatgpt says "As of July 2024, Bluebird by American Express no longer accepts deposits from foreign debit cards." I had been trying for 2 days to do that, even called CS who told me how to reinstall the card. Of course, you cannot reinstall or install a foreign card anymore. No notice from AMEX or bluebird. Just does not work anymore. Waste of time.
