LPT: Your car radio doesn’t have Bluetooth connectivity? Get a Bluetooth FM transmitter. Plugs into the cigarette lighter, connects to your phone and then transmits your phone‘s audio on a specified FM-frequency. Set your cars radio to that frequency and you can listen to music wirelessly.

I plan to create a Bluetooth FM transmitter for my car radio system. When connected to my mobile phone through bluetooth, the device should transmit my mobile phone audio in a tunable frequency. So that when my radio is tuned to that particular frequency,my car speaker system should play my mobile phone audio.I am a newbie in electronics. What all components or circuits should I use for this.Is there any useful web links which can help me in building this device.
device for broadcasting radio signals
The things cost 10-20 bucks and work really well, be sure to use a frequency as far away as possible from any local radio stations if you don’t want to get interference.
Similar products exist for your cassette deck as well.
I can usually tell whose signal I’m picking up because it fades when they start to move away from me in slow traffic. I’d assume we’re both transmitting (and receiving) on the same frequency.
I ask this because whenever I pick up someone else’s signal, I assume they can hear mine and immediately put on either Clown Core - Witch Pussy or Hudson Mohawke - Cbat
Yes and Yes.
Try it out! Grab a handheld FM radio (these still exists I'm sure) and walk around the car seeing just how far the transmission can be heard from.
Now, FM is a licensed and presumably still profitable band, so the FCC heavily scrutinizes these products (if it's been scrutinized as it should). As such it may have a pretty short transmission range. Maybe grab the device and see just how far you can walk from the vehicle and still be heard.
Finally, FM is a very noisy band filled with multi-kilowatt profit motive machines. The device may be like whispering your SSN in a crowded and noisy room. Probably fine unless your arch nemesis is standing right next to you.
But in general it's best not to broadcast one's personal details.
Yes. FM isn't encrypted and everything transmitted over FM can be listened by anyone close enough.
If you are concerned, you could use a Bluetooth receiver with line-out output. There are several options on your favorite online shop.
