September 15, 2023The Board and batten is supposed to be the same color as the siding. How bad do you think this is? Is it worth saying anything about? I dont know if its possible to match exactly but we were told it would. Thoughts?
Perosnally I think it looks better than if they were the same color. They are form the same pallette and complement each other well. More on reddit.com

We are adding a large addition to home shortly, and they are replacing the siding of the home in the process. I would really like to have the vertical lined siding I.e. board and batten instead of the horizontal traditional vinyl siding we currently have, but only if we can do it budget friendly, otherwise we will just go with traditional siding. Wondering what options there are and how much more it would cost to do it, if anyone has compared prices recently.

Figure about 4 bucks per ft2 in material for James Hardie Panel + Batten. Superior to vinyl in every way IMO. You also can modulate the batten spacing with this system as opposed to being locked in to an 8” pattern or whatever it is with a vinyl product. It’s a 4x8 or 4x10 panel that’s mounted vertically with battens glued or nailed on to the surface
