More on reddit.comHey r/malefashionadvice,
I am looking to buy a jacket for this fall/winter and was wondering if it's a bit late for a bomber jacket? If so, what should I get instead?
I am planning to get a peacoat or parka for the winter, but need something lighter to cover November and perhaps early December.
It's going to be 50-60 degrees (fahrenheit) in November where I am from. Not many U.S stores, options are: H&M, Pull&Bear, Zara, Bershka, Massimo Dutti (a bit expensive, going to get winter coat here), Colin's, Koton etc.
Thanks.
I’m heading out to Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado) in late November for a camping trip, and I know the temps can get pretty cold there, especially at night. I’d like to grab a solid bomber jacket in the $300–$500 range that works for both warmth and durability, while still being stylish enough to wear casually outside of camping. Some brands I’ve been considering: Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Legendary Whitetails. EDITED: Just wanted to give an update........ I ended up ordering the Alpha Industries bomber... thanks for all the input (and honestly even the downvotes xD ) they actually pushed me to rethink and go with something more practical...... I’ll wear it with proper layers so I’m not underprepared for Rocky Mountain temps!!!!
Hello everyone,
I know this question has been asked several times in this sub, however I do need some help. I currently own TNF Gotham II jacket, and it's doing absolutely nothing for me in this mild yet pesky Canadian winter. I was freezing at -5 degrees C.
I have decided to splurge some money on a good winter jacket, could be a bomber or a parka, that's gonna keep me warm up to -25 degrees C, with not much layering. I am not looking for puffers, although initially, i wanted to go for Arc'teryx Thorium/Cerium. Now I am looking for a proper (and stylish) bomber/parka, which would also give me the flexibility to dress up/down when required.
Here are the jackets I have my eyes on:
CG LANGFORD PARKA
CG Clarence Coat
Nobis Dylan Mens Hooded Bomber Jacket
TNF CRYOS GTX® TRICLIMATE
Fjallraven Greenland No.1 Down Jacket
Any reviews on the aforementioned jackets?
Surprisingly no one really talks about the TNF Cryos. Although it's the same price as CG and Nobis, it's waterproof and got 800-fill goose down, which is more than what the former 2 offers at that price point. Should be perfect for the negative temperature.
As for the Fjallraven Greenland, I doubt how warm it can keep me, and if it's really an upgrade from the Gotham II.
Not sure if the last 3 models will go on sale anytime soon. I would like to not pay the retail price, and would prefer to save as much as I can.
P.S. Please do not suggest Eddie Bauer or Arctery'x. Really don't prefer how their outlook. And yes, 'looks' is as important to me as the quality and warmth, no harm in that.
