I have a Dell inspiron 5577 gaming laptop that everytime windows updates it causes cmos errors. Today I attempted to update the bios and now all I get at boot up screen is dell logo and boot guard error. I've removed batteries and pressed power button and tried control and escape. Nothing is helping. Can anyone help me?
Dell Insprion 7559 - "Boot Guard Verified DXE that is fail"
Download and install the latest bios not using a usb stick just run the installer on the computer and see if that helps

This error message (clearly not in proper english) shows at the DELL logo on startup for the last month also stating to "system will shutdown press anykey". There are a few searches online that state (from DELL) a bad motherboard but hoping someone can help diagnose if there might be anymore behind this to fix it. I bought this laptop new from Dell two years ago for $1200. Frustrating that its only been this long with a refurb motherboard being $400-500. I take good care of the laptop, browse as safe as I can and dont download unecessary software.
-Running Windows 10 Home. Intel i7 -6700HQ 2.6GHz. 16GB RAM. 64 bit.
-I thought the error message was a DELL specific error but just now found it may be intel related from an older thread about Intel Boot Gaurd (https://www.reddit.com/r/netsec/comments/74mz70/how_we_bypassed_the_intel_boot_guard/) just and seems to be the same thing but not sure if its the same thing. Also someone with the exact same issue on a MSI laptop (https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/4beq84/getting_boot_guard_verified_dxe_that_is_fail/).
-After waiting a few hours or disconnecting/reconnecting the battery it will boot up normally sometimes (~20% of the time).
-This happens after a shutdown or restart. Luckily I have been able to use the sleep function to extend the life of the laptop some.
-Tried running the dell online website diagnotics with no issues found.
-I havent been able to get to the F12 menu to run the diagnostics due to the issue of the message I get. When it does boot up "normally" it seems to be skipping the DELL logo and can't pull up bios or diagnostics with the Function keys.
-Disconnected the battery to isolate it as the issue and still got the error message. Also have held the power button for 30 sec to relieve any static discharge a few times which didnt seem to help.
-Removed the RAM and booted up but could not get to the error message or it to boot up.
-Disconnected the M.2 SSD which contains the OS and connected it back.
-Disconnected a secondary HDD containing my files with no changes and getting the same error message
-The display sometimes didnt seem to illuminate/turn on when I started having issues so I tried the display troubleshoot (hold D and turn on). The display changed colors and ran through some checks and back to the same error message.
-Downloaded the latest BIOS on a USB and tried to install. However, not sure if it actually installed without restarting correctly but the error message came back more often and this time with no DELL logo.
If anyone has any insight what I should try next please let me know. Of course I could send into DELL for repair but likley going to cost a good amount of funds.
I am somewhat tech savvy but if anyone can put it in 'laymans terms' or directions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for the time.
This is indeed a problem with the UEFI boot code in the BIOS. If it was a desktop I’d suggest clearing the CMOS using the mobo jumper, but here I’d suggest contacting Dell as on a laptop that’s not so easy.
F2 or F12 are common on Dells, though the industry standard is Delete.
Hello,
one of our users is having a problem with his Dell Latitude E7250, it won’t boot. It get’s the following message: Boot guard verified DXE that is fail. I understand it’s a problem with the Bios. But I can’t even go into the bios to see if I could perform a return to the default settings. Normally I should be able to do this by hitting F2, no?

Hi I have an Alienware 17r3 that was work perfectly fine back in February of this year until I downloaded a cracked version of pro tools which made my system be repetitive of booting to boot guard and not showing the logo screen , but couple times already I was able to boot back into my system by continuously tapping and holding down the power key until it showed me the logo screen and booted up to the main system I tried to find the virus but no luck at all cleaning it out of my laptop. Now once again my system is back on the boot guard screen but this time it's taking me a longer time to boot back up into the main system what can I do ?
