I have the Bose 900 soundbar, wireless 700 bass module, and wireless rear speakers. For about a month, the bass module would crackle or pop during scenes where bass was evident, and I just figured out why.
About a month ago, we upgraded our wireless router to a Synology RT6600ax. It’s awesome and highly recommend it. HOWEVER, I eventually found that the 5GHz band will interfere with the bass module.
I figured that the crackling noise coming from the module was being caused by the router, but not sure why. I tried every setting on the router, but eventually disabled the 5GHz band a few days ago and all problems went away!
5GHz is great for faster speeds, but only at shorter distances. The 2.4GHz is for longer distances but slower. We have 26 devices running on it and it still feels fast.
Hope this helps y’all!
It seems anytime there's 5.1 audio there's always these moments of the sound dropping out for like a split second. It's completely random and sometimes it's fine but when the music is swelling and there's a moment building and suddenly there's a sudden drop in audio for a second it totally kills the vibe.
Aside from the audio dropping out, most of the time my sub is working fine but then there are times where it makes this weird crackling/pop sound, crazy annoying.
Am I right that the SB doesn't decode (at least very well) DTS, ATMOS, Dolby? I wish I would have known this because so much of my source material uses one of the three. It's crazy how much I spent with such a hinderances.
My set up is Nvidia Shield connected to a Vizio Quantum P-series HDTV with the ARC HDMI going into the soundbar.
-
The soundbar's EQ is all zero'd out (default)
-
ADAPTiQ is off because it's in a huge room with 20ft ceilings
-
Dialogue Mode is off
-
Audio Track set to both
-
BassModule is at 0 the sub is about 15ft away from the TV and SB.
Anyways, thank you for the read and look forward to hearing any input!
I know it's a very dated answer but I too ran into the same problem recently and simply disconnected from the WiFi by pressing the left button on the sideways square or the ok button and the skip button simultaneously and when disconnected the crackling sound bottoming out sounds go away.
The sub issue might be caused by WiFi interference. At least that's what bose is telling people. I am quiet tech savvy but i have a hard time understanding it. I got 2 subs and strangely only one is doing it. My tv and the soundbar are connected via wifi to the router that is 15ft. away from the tv. But since I am in a flat theres a chance that someone around me the floor below or above is having a router near .
The workaround would be to connect the dub via cable. They sent me one but it is giving me a lot of white noise and hence is no legit alternative for me.
