September 3, 2022Repairing some old Bose X aviation headset
Hello all, I recently got some Bose X aviation headset and they are in pretty bad shape. The user was gonna throw them away (because they don't work very well anymore) and I figure I could have a look at it and see if I could do something about it. I believe the cable between the cups are at fault (given there conditions) see picture. I disassemble one side to check the inside and I believe it should be ok to cut the wires where they are in good shape and solder some new one. Things is, I have no idea what kind of cable I'd need. Should I just get some OFC cable with the same diameter...? Is there anything more to look after...? Thanks a lot for your help everybody. More on reddit.com

I’m unable to transmit any sound from my headset unless I wiggle the cord in a way that pleases the aviation gods.
Bose doesn’t offer parts, repairs, or trade-ins any more so I’m trying to make the best of a crappy situation by finding someone else to fix it.
Is anyone familiar with any 3rd party repair companies that might be able to solve the issue ?
