Before you jump all over me, I have been through the other threads on this to no avail.
Last year we moved to a new home. Went to plug it in and it started scrolling left to right. Couldn’t figure it out so I said fuck it and bought a different soundbar…but it’s still bothering me.
I’ve tried everything. I bought a new data cable but I cannot get the links that have been provided to work. I tried the link Bose offers as well as using the IP address of my soundbar. Any other suggestions?

the speaker updated itself over the air and got stuck while updating.
white light scrolls left to right for about 10 minutes, then it turns to a steady red light.
i can get into the green light recovery mode by pressing "action-mute-action-mute alternating press". but there it doesnt do anything. cant connect wifi, cant connect usb.
also i cannot enter the hard-reset mode with "play-aux long press".
when the speaker is in steady-red-light-mode i can see it as a "qualcomm hs usb" for which i installed drivers in windows.
seems that is the EDL emergency-download mode to recover almost bricked android devices. for many china phones you can get the files to flash back but not for our beloved BOSE.
so my question to the community and to BOSE: is there a way you give us the needed files to re-flash our speaker ourselves?
it is a joke that i have to send my speaker to BOSE and pay over $100 for the fix since the failed stuck update problem is long known and clearly an issue on the server cdn which serves the update files sometimes faulty.
one thing is for sure: this is the first and last BOSE product i bought.
this speaker made so much trouble, updating forever, failing half of the time, needing reset, having bluetooth connection issues ....
cant compare it to my old JBL flip4 which JUST WORKS and just does what it should....
First of all, sorry cuz I know this isn't a troubleshooting subreddit but I'm having an issue with my home speaker 300. It's been stuck doing an update for days now, The light bar in the front goes from left to right indicating that it is still downloading the update. It never actually updates though and the touch buttons on top don't register except for the mute button. I've tried every single resetting method and everything you can think of and the only thing that works is putting it in recovery mode. However, when you put it in recovery mode, it goes back to the update which then puts it back in the loop. I don't understand what's happened or why this is happening. If anyone has any insight that would be very helpful. Thank you!
After five grueling days of being taunted by an endless update loop, I've fixed the issue.
I tried letting it update by itself (Bose's "Automatic overnight update" method). 24 hours later, no dice.
Tried their "Manually starting an update" method, but the Soundbar wouldn't respond to the remote.
"Updating using the Direct IP method" didn't work, I got stuck on Step 8 for hours until I gave up and unplugged it.
Tried the "Updating using the the built-in setup network" but it wouldn't factory reset, I ended up having it deleted from my Bose account and still having it be unresponsive to the remote.
None of the methods Bose gave on their support article for this worked for me. I ended up having to jerryrig their "Updating using a computer and USB cable" solution, because their instructions did not work.
Okay, so here's what Bose said to do and how my fix went:
On a computer, open an internet browser and go to worldwide.bose.com/support/SB300FW
Why would I think that I could just click a clickable link and it would function like it's supposed to? No, I had to actually copy and paste it into my search bar, then the download started automatically.
When prompted, save the product_update.zip file. Do not rename or open/unzip the file. If the prompt does not appear, the file may have downloaded automatically. Look for file in a browser notification or in the Downloads folder.
There was no prompt.
Connect a USB A-to-Micro USB cable from a computer to the SERVICE jack on the back of the soundbar
Reboot the soundbar by disconnecting the power cord for 30 seconds:
While rebooting, the light bar on the front of the product pulses white
Once rebooted, the light bar turns off
It didn't pulse white, it just started its white doom scroll again and it didn't turn off. That's fine, I haven't been losing sleep about this damn thing at all. Totally fine. Just going to keep going at this point because what else do I have to lose? My sanity? My dignity? I've been pleading with a technological slab for days, I'm all out of fucks to give.
On the remote, simultaneously press and hold the Play/Pause icon and Volume + buttons for 5 seconds to enter Service mode: The light bar on the soundbar glows white, then turns off when you release the buttons
Yeah, no, it still won't respond to the remote, so fuck me I guess. Whatever, I kept going as a final hail Mary to the gods of audio.
In a separate web browser or tab, enter and go to the following address: http://203.0.113.1:17008/update.html
IMPORTANT: This address will not work until you connect a computer, reboot your product and enter Service mode as described in the steps above
I guess fucking not, pal, because mine didn't reboot and it still worked.
Select Choose File, and select the update file downloaded earlier
Click UPLOAD, then wait while the update is installed
The website says that after the upload, the Soundbar will restart and be ready for use. Usually a restart means that it will turn off and then turn itself back on, you'd expect the hear that victorious powering-on sound and the proud single blink of light that let's you know it's on--but no. It just turns off. You can click the power button and it'll turn on and things should be fixed now. If this doesn't work for you, good luck and I'm sorry.
Hi All,
I am trying to put my soundbar into set up mode as we changed our wifi few days back. While doing that it gets stuck at constant white light from left as shown above and never goes into Amber color mode. Any idea how to fix it?
I've had this left to right scrolling white line for more than a week
At first I managed to get the speaker on manual update mode but after that, not a single input works and I can't get the speaker on any other mode than that light
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
