Hi, I'm seeing a circle appear on the screen if my bose remote (lifestyle 650). I've tried to reset it using the glow and ok button as advised by Google but to no effect. Service agency has said engineer will be around to check in a week or so.
From what I've found the circle is caused by the remote somehow getting unpaired and can be fixed with a reset except that's not happening. Please suggest how to solve.

You can re-calibrate the remote first by following the steps below:
1. press and hold down on the display screen in the top middle area of the remote
2. After a few seconds the word CAL will appear in the middle and the word SOURCE will appear in the top left area of the remote.
3. Press the SOURCE button.
4. The word KEYPAD will appear in the top right area of the remote
5. Press the KEYPAD button and a small circle will appear in the bottom right of the remote.
6. Press the Circle
This should've recalibrated the remote.
If you need to relink the remote to the system, HOLD down the mute button while having the remote as close as possible to the unit. You will hear a beep . Release the button, after a pause , you will hear the remote beep twice.
This re-links the remote to your system
If the backlight is not working, your options are
1. Spend $349 and get a new one from Bose Or
2.Spend $220 and get a used one on E-bayOR
3. Use your remote with the lights on so that you can see the display :-)...the cheapest way OR Invest in an LED Book light that you can clamp on the remote and use that for your light ($9.99)
A second option would be to take to a local electronic repair store- would be a relatively simple repair, but would require a tech with knowledge to complete
I’ve had this system for…hell, almost 20 years now I guess? I think I got it in 2008 or so.
Anyway.
It still works great and sounds great, but occasionally just turns itself off randomly. Rarely while in use, but sometimes.
Additionally, the remote - even with fresh batteries, no corrosion, seemingly perfect condition still - just…doesn’t always actually respond. Power, volume, source switching - doesn’t seem to be a particular button specifically, and after a few presses it will work.
I’m only using it across a medium sized living room, maybe 12 feet from the receiver which should be well within its range. Entertainment center is an open shelf style, so no impediments to it, well ventilated, no heat concerns, etc. and the only other thing feeding into it is an N64 and a PS5 then outputs via HDMI to my TV.
Any thoughts? I figure it’s well out of warranty at this point so there probably wouldn’t be any harm in taking things apart and giving it a good duster blowout but other than that I don’t know what to do here. I’d rather not buy a whole new system just for a remote issue…but I’m not against buying a new remote either, I’ve heard good things about the Logitech ones.
