The QC are known to be more comfortable and slightly lighter than the QC Ultra and cheaper. Until I got the AirPods Max 2 months ago, the Bose QC35ii and QC45s were my main headphones mostly because of the comfort. I have the Sony WH-1000XM4, Sony WH-720N and Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2 and while the passive sound on these varies (whilst they're turned off), I got to say, the Bose QC has a pretty good sound and I would say sounds the best out of all these.
I'm curious if there are other wireless headphones have a good wired sound, even when they're turned off.

I don't care about noise cancelling - can either pair of the headphones be used as headphones wired? I have a couple of long flights coming up, and I just want a good quality pair of cans that are comfy and have a good sound quality, and just work. Everything I've looked at just seems to talk about the noise cancelling, and I just don't care, but everything seems to be wireless now, and it's kind of a huge pain in the rear trying to find the right info. I wouldn't buy these if you're looking for wired headphones and don't care about noise cancelling. The whole point of these headphones are that they are wireless noise canceling devices. There are much better options for you out there. How are you driving your headphones? Are you using a smartphone to play music?

You can't and this is really annoying. I bought mine two months ago and I like them so far, but I'd like Bose to fix these things: impossible to listen to music without ANC or transparency mode (absolutely unfriendly to a customer, it can cause headaches for sure, especially for people who aren't used to ANC) impossible to listen to music using a wire without turning them on including ANC and draining the battery (like what is the point of having a wire if guys in Bose come up with such a solution I just can't find any logic here) I really hope these things can be fixed with software updates and Bose will do it in the future

However not if the headphones are turned on before the cord is plugged in and receiving a signal.
e.g. plug headphones in and play media, once listening to your chosen entertainment without any noise cancellation then continue to turn headphones on; voila, now you can enjoy ;)

I have them plugged in and they don't work when they are turned on. That means noise cancelling is working, however the audio signal via wire is not played in the headphones. When I turn them off I can hear some low quality sound, however the active noise canceling is not working since they are turned off.

I have a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones and while it probably would make no difference in noisy environments, especially airplanes, both my Bose and Oppo PM-2 headphones are getting long in the tooth.
