Bose Wave Radio not working | Audioholics Home Theater Forums
April 25, 2024 - I purchased a new Bose Wave Radio w/CD slot 2 years ago. This model is the one that operates only by remote. Been working great until today when I went down to my shop and tried to turn it on. Thought maybe I had a bad battery in my remote, so I replaced it with new. No such luck when trying to turn on. Hit the power button and screen hi-lites time, then ghosts. Display only shows time. Volume controls work in display using remote. Tuner does not.

r/bose on Reddit: Bose Wave Radio/CD/Clock
October 22, 2023 -

I've got one of those Bose Wave radio/CD units. It's around 20 years old (I can't remember exactly).
Recently, the unit has stopped responding to the remote control (and there is no way to control it without the remote).

The clock on the front panel works fine, but if I try to turn the unit on, the display blanks momentarily, then shows PLEASE WAIT, which blinks a few times, and then the clock display returns.

Oddly, the alarm clock controls work just fine -- I can set the time, and change the radio station that plays at the alarm time. But that's it.

It's not the remote. I tried the remote on another similar (but much newer) unit in another room, and it works just fine. And I tried the remote from that working unit on the non-functioning unit, and I got the same result with both remotes.

Any ideas? The model number is AWRCC2, if that helps.

Thanks -- any suggestions much appreciated.

Anyone fixed a Bose Wave Radio with no sound? | diyAudio
November 18, 2011 - I had (have?) the same problem...Mine's a Series 2 Wave Radio, 3 AAA batts for standby. The battery contacts were clean, no leakage. I put in new Energizer alkalines that worked fine for maybe 2 weeks, then the display and functions petered out dead again. Just now replaced with Duracell alkalines, and it came back to life again, for how long I don't know. Will post again if and when it dies. Thanks, Ears2U ... Troubleshooting Bose Wave Radio System 1: No Sound Issues
There is one step you can take here, both as a possible fix, as well as a diagnostic evaluation: 1) Unplug the power cord from the outlet 2) Wait at least 1 hour (60+ Minutes) 3) Press and hold the power button (on the top of the radio, not the remote) for 30 seconds 4) Keep holding power button while plugging back in, and for another 30 seconds after. When plugging back in, go directly to the wall outlet, bypassing any power strips or surge protectors. If this reset process does not work, it would unfortunately confirm an internal hardware failure.
