Hi,
I have a Bose Soundlink Wireless Sound System (see image attached). Unfortunately I have lost the remote whilst moving houses and the speakers heavily rely on remote usage (you can only control the volume from the speakers itself), so currently I’m unable to actually use the Bluetooth function as you have to use the remote to turn it into pairing mode.
This made me attempt to find a replacement remote control or try to see if maybe there was any way I didn’t know about with the buttons on the speakers.
I called up Bose customer services, and unfortunately I found the following:
these remotes cannot be sold independently from the speakers from Bose itself
there is no way of using the speakers without the remote
this remote is the only remote that works with these speakers
I was then given the recommendation to look at John Lewis / currys / Amazon / eBay to look for a replacement. When I did look, John Lewis and currys had nothing. And the product suggestions that came up on Amazon and eBay were either not the authentic one or looked like the authentic one but was actually for the Digital Air music system (another model).
It would be greatly appreciated if I could receive some advice and suggestions. I don’t have much knowledge on how remotes actually work for speakers, so am unsure whether I could buy a dupe that might work. Obviously it would be great to find the authentic one, but I haven’t had luck so far with a general search on Google.
