Hi, I'm looking to get a soundbar during this year's BF sale and saw the Bose and Sonos are both going to have deals. My local store doesn't have either (only the more complete sound systems for demo), so I wanted to get some thoughts on these sets that don't have a subwoofer.
I'm certain the Sonos sounds better based on general reviews, but I'm wondering if it's worth 2.5x the difference? I have no issue affording it, but at the same time, I don't want to spend the extra cash for something that casual listeners are not able to discern -- as this post very like exposed that I'm no audiophile.
Our living room is not too large, about 10 ft deep (from the tv) x 15 ft. I'm specifically looking at these soundbars without the woofer as we previously had another 5.1 home theater system from 12+ years ago that died a while back (I think it was a Sony or LG but can't even remember), but it was overkill and I always turned down the bass to not bother the neighbors.
So the main usage is for improving the speech audio on the tv, and also gaming on my ps5 which has similar issues but at least most games do have settings to adjust music/sfx/dialog volume separately.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I am about to get one of these two for my pc. My display speaker sucks. Tried sony and they sucked.
The review I see for the 550 are not great to be honest but it sounded good at costco. I could not test the solo 2. Anyone have experiences with these?
Is the Sonos soundbar worth the extra $200 compared to the $200 Bose soundbar in terms of sound quality, features, and overall value? Only considering Sonos because it’s $100 off
