Well, like a year ago my original remote control "stopped working" with my ST300, but now it turns out that it actually works, but it won't put my ST300 on config mode, idk why. Is the original control that came in the box of the ST300 Anyone knows why it doesn't work and how I can try to pair it? I rested the ST300 and I can't connect it to the wifi 🥲

Ordered a replacement remote from Bose but the remote doesn’t change the volume on the SoundTouch 300. It can do a few things like turn off and on but doesn’t seem to be sending the right IR commands to the SoundTouch.
I thought these things worked out of the box as they are standard IR codes for the matching remote and SoundTouch models.
The original remote worked fine a few days ago but new puppy chewed it up into pieces. I have all the pieces so not worried about the pup.

Fixed it! Followed the reset guide on the bose site. To people in the future: Hold the TV source until all the source lights flash then press 981 and the source buttons will light up again. Hello, The above link doesn’t seem to work. I have the same issue. I purchased the “Bose Replacement Remote - Soundbar Universal”. The instruction suggests you to pair it with the sound bar using the Bose Music app, but the SoundTouch 300 is only compatible with the both sound link app. Can someone please tell Me how I can pair the new remote with my Bose Soundtouch 300? (FYI, I have connected my Soundbar to internet with an Ethernet cable and is linked to the SoundTouch App) Thanks!

I know it’s a long stretch but has anyone had any luck putting this soundbar into setup mode without the original remote? I recently purchased this second hand and desperately need it to connect to the Soundtouch app so I can sync my other Soundtouch devices to it. I bought a third party remote off Amazon it works for all the other functions it’s just not able to go into setup mode for the WiFi.

If anyone stumbles upon this post I contacted Bose support and they were able to get me a remote for much cheaper than eBay or a third party seller!

Yeah I tried the Ethernet cable too it connects to the app but gets me no where for the wifi. The remote I got technically has the Soundtouch function it just requires me to press two buttons. It worked for connecting the bass module and Bluetooth I just can’t seem to get it to work for the WiFi. So frustrating

July 14, 2018 - It won't affect the volume of the Bose when you use it with other sources so I think getting a replacement Bose remote will be the simplest solution. You could get a Logitech Harmony remote if you want a single remote to operate the entire system.
