Are Bose Soundwear worth buying in 2023?
Assuming you are talking about the Soundwear Companions - I love mine. I use them everyday at work. I have a one man shop, but I can be working out the back enjoying some music and still be aware of customers entering the store. But they are also not loud enough for them to hear much before i turn them off. Unfortunately I don't see a replacement model coming out at all. They recevied a mixed reception and were not a great seller. I think they may have been before their time, as not long after they stopped selling other brands like Sony started selling their versions (But I'm not familier with those, so don't have any recommendations). Yes, the SoundWear was discontinued. The main reason was it never took off the way that Bose thought it would. That being said I have one and it's one of my favorite products I own. More on reddit.com

May 16, 2021Bought a refurb soundwear and the speaker sounds like it has blown out. Any options for fixing it?
If your purchased them within the last year, contact Bose support @ 1800-644-BOSE. Tell them your issue. And they should give you the option to replace them. All they’ll have you do is ship the product out to them and they’ll ship a replacement. Bose is usually very generous especially with defective products.

people commenting about how annoying this is on public transport...do you realize this isn't meant to be used on public transport but at home or in situations where you are busy doing stuff and need you hands and ears free?? If someone uses it on a public transport then he's a dick, but you can't blame Bose if someone is misusing the product, same as you wouldn't blame Bose for making bluetooth speakers if someone is using one on a train.

I am looking to upgrade my music experience. Due to noise issue, I can not have loud music in the house but I'm also not willing to get another pair of headphones. Since I love surround sound, I was thinking if I should consider buying Bose Soundwear. But there are some questions:
This tech almost 4 years old, are new gen planned to launch anytime soon?
Are they worth the price?
Any other brand alternatives I should consider?
I mainly listen to classical and classic rock music. I appreciate balanced sound with instrument details in audio.

This tech almost 4 years old They were first sold 2017, and Bose stopped selling them in 2021. So the tech is 5 years old and is discontinued. This means if you see them online or in a surplus store their battery was stored at least two years completely discharged. There will not be a new version of those, so you could still buy a pair, if you feel able to replace the battery yourself ( doesn't look too hard to be honest ) as far as your musical prefernces are concerned, you sound like you are under the impression, that you will get the same sound quality as headphones. Thats not the case. They are convenience products and while they don't sound bad, you don't get a hifi product here

I love them. The only issue - they tend to fall backward. And I've solved this using a shoelace. And every time they do fall back and are saved by the shoelace, I feel like a genius :).
