I try to summarize it for you: the 700 offer better highs, a bit more fidelity but not as much bass as the 500s (according to reports from some people, I can’t complain regarding bass output). Dolby support is there but not Atmos, as both Surround Speaker pairs don’t offer upfiring drivers. At that price difference I'd go for the 500 and replace them for their successor, when ever it is going to arrive. The 700s are better in my opinion but not 330$s better. I have the Bose 700 sound bar currently and wanted to add to it. I found someone on OfferUp selling the surround speakers 500 for $270. He has someone picking them up on Monday so I have until tomorrow to decide on them.
My set-up is an 55” LG C2 OLED connected through E-Arc along with a X-Box series X. I also have an Asus Zephyrus G14 laptop with a Ryzen 9 and a 3060. This is for my bedroom it’s not a master so it’s 9ft x 9ft x 9ft x 9ft.
Price wise $270 seems pretty good considering they retail $399+tax so around $430-$440 and the 700’s are $599+tax($650).
Given the price of the 700’s are they worth the nearly $400 difference?
I believe both the versions don’t have Dolby compatibility? I hear people say wait for the 900s but who knows when that will be and how expensive they will be. I just want some more volume towards the back of my room where my bed is.
What do y’all think? I’m leaning towards going for it.

Have you seen the 700’s? They are painfully tiny, and severely overpriced. Stay with the 500’s for $270. The wind could blow the 700’s over.
