Are the Bose Surround Speakers the same as the Bose Virtually Invisible 300 Surround Speakers? They look very similar and I’m wondering if the virtually invisible speakers will work with my Bose Soundbar 900.

They’re exactly the same and yes they’ll work. The VI300 got rebranded to just “Surround Speakers” when the Soundbar 700 released.

I had the invisible speakers but thought I'd try the omnijewel 700s and tbh they are way better way way better and should be for the price

You have two options of surround speakers: Surround Speakers 300/500 and the Surround Speakers 700. They differ in price, shape and sound quality. The 300/500 are said to be more bass heavy, while the 700 emphasize the highs and treble more pronounced. They are Home Speakers from Bose, but they can’t be used as surrounds. They are suitable for Multiroom use only.

Whats the difference between these two speakers? From my research it seems they are the exact same except the Bose 700 surround sound speakers have 360 degree surround sound where the Bose Surround Speakers are "one" direction... Is this true? Are the Bose 700 speakers worth the extra $200?

I have a brand new Bose 700 sound bar and Bose 700 base module.

No need for extra 200 $ unless you care about look.also you need one direction only I.e. back firing speakers. It’s Bose propaganda about 360 but they sound same. Still confused? Order both on Bose and keep the one you like and return the another

I can’t make the comparison here, because I haven’t heard both models side by side or bought both of them. I’ve read, that the Surrounds 700 can provide more volume. In case of my usage with them (Surrounds 700) I believe, that they are making a difference in case of music. Because of their omnidirectional shape, the music can be better transferred around the room, than having to sit right in between the speakers and their directional speakers.

Hi, I have a pair of Virtually Invisible 300 and looking for a soundbar too match these too. I found that they match the SoundTouch 300 but since that is no longer available I was thinking if I can pair these with like a Smart Soundbar 300 or 500 perhaps? Or if there is anything else that can work I would really appreciate some recommendations!

They are the same as the "Bose Surround Speakers". They were just rebadged and renamed when Bose switched thier naming conventions from "SoundTouch XXX" to "Soundbar XXX". So anything the new ones are compatible with, the VI300s are too. Realistically, any of the Bose Smart Soundbars - SB300/500/600/700/900/Ultra, and the SoundTouch300. It doesn't work with the "TV Soundbars"

May 9, 2023 - Nothing you can buy for the SB900 will give you true Atmos in the surrounds, so that argument is a pure non sequitur. The more advanced 700s are just capable of a wider sound dispersion at the cost of 1 inch of driver diameter, nothing more.

Hey guys!

Iam owning the bose soundbar 700 with the bass module 700 and I really like the sound quality of that system. Yesterday I bought and installed the virtual invisible surround speakers and currently they produce almost no audible sound.

I tried configuring my system with adaptiq, I tried several sources (Netflix via my TV app, blu ray player, PC, PS4, IPHONE via BT, playing videogame etc).

The system is connected to my TV, an OLED C9 via HDMI eARC.

I also cranked the volume up in the app to 100, still I have to hold them next to my ear to hear anything.

I know these speakers are there to give me the surround effect...like stuff happening over my shoulder etc. and no fully loud sound like the soundbar itself but in this case the sound they produce is so low that you simply dont hear it against to sound produced by the soundbar 700. They might not even be there...

Sadly, if there is no solution to this Iam gonna return them and have to look for other alternatives.

Hello. On your tv you have to select dolby digital 5.1 sound for the eArc.
