The 5.1 set up days are over for me, this really does the trick. Bose sells a new one for 280, refurbed for 160 (which is the one I bought, but it was less back then), an eBay seller has been selling Target liquidated ones for 140, I recently bought one and it was listed as Open Box but I received a brand new sealed one, it just had some cosmetic punctures on the box. March 4, 2024I see this sound bar highly rated everywhere by people. it's always at the top. but "professional" Reviewers like rtings crap on it. why the big divide?
Perception is key. Bose has this "Bose sound" where some people really enjoy it. And it's not bad, for movies yes, but overall it's just not good good if you look at the review and compare it to others. Best to get some opinion of your own is to go to you closest electronic store and see if they have it on display. More on reddit.com

I watch a lot of movies/series and the TV speaker is just flat… I don’t want to spend too much on a soundbar (something around $200). I took the leap and ordered Bose TV speaker soundbar. Should I try out anything else before settling with the Bose soundbar? The features mention Dolby Audio and is it good enough for most of the Dolby content out there?

You watch alot of movies and tv series and you really believe going dirt cheap and undersized speakers is appropriate? I'll offer you second hand av receiver and speakers to start at a minimum.
