When the first Wave SoundTouch system was released, it was a combination of the Wave Music System III and a pedestal(placed on the bottom) which contained the Wi-Fi adapter module that allowed connection to a wireless network. The new Wave SoundTouch Music System IV has an upgraded appearance and SoundTouch and the Wi-Fi adapter are completely integrated into the radio itself.

It has Bluetooth audio capability and I can stream music to it from my Android smartphone. I hardly ever use it for that--I do 98% of my listening with headphones, and most of the rest over my computer's speakers. And my hearing is going. So I can't tell you a lot about it. I consider the sound to be "pretty decent" and vaguely similar to my wife's mom's Bose wave radio.

I hope so. They're not even worth it at $499 let alone $599. 2000's technology, no physical buttons, so you're a slave to the remote. You have to buy an FM antenna separately as well as a bluetooth adapter. Even then, the audio quality from the bluetooth adapter will sound mediocre on the system. I prefer the sound of the Home Speaker 500 better and that speaker is cheaper than the Wave at $379.

Its the last product attached to Amar Bose. Yeah, its on way out. Its a dinosaur in today's audio. I have had one since 2001 and still kicking.................AM sports. The AARP set keep it selling though.

Integrated touch top control, wave to radio/cd/buzzer, dual independent alarms with continuous display of wake up time, stronger AM/FM tuner with song info on display for fm stations). Nowhere on Bose's website do they discuss speaker enhancements or sound enhancement features of the Music Wave III over its predecessor.

Hello,
I am looking for a nice CD player for the kitchen, and I am nostalgia as hell for the Wave sets I always saw in catalogues and my parents never could afford.
Does anyone have an opinion on the tall Acoustic Waves II vs the regular Wave systems(I or II)? Does one sound better than the other, or have some killer feature I am missing out on? Is there a reason the acoustic is three times the size?

Hi I’m a Bose fan and repair them I been dealing with them for 14 years. The acoustic wave ii at higher volumes will have more clarity and more bass are per the smaller wave music system ii and iii will not be as clear at higher volumes I’m talking about 80 and up it still performs well though. I’d recommend the acoustic wave ii system or acoustic wave CD-3000. Both have same looks. Top is lightly different. Acoustic wave ii last year model has MP3 on CD platform and slightly better bass response. If you want smaller then the wave music system ii and iii smaller model will be good. I still love these units I don’t think Bose should have discounted them. But now I see it as I have a unique system not everyone will be able to have so it will be consider vintage and unique

The acoustic wave definately has better sound. However they are both old systems. I don't think the acoustic wave has been sold for at least 5 years and hadn't been updated for a while before that (maybe 10-15 years ago). The normal wave was last updated around 6 years ago. While they were built to last a while, the first thing to go tended to be the cd player part. I'd think they are old enough that Bose probably don't fix them anymore, so you'd have to go through a third party repairer.

Why am I seeing such varying prices online? I see some going got 89$, some for 300-400$ plus and some going for well over 1000-1500$
What is the actual selling price for a good condition used (BOSE SOUNDWAVE 4 WITH PEDESTAL AND REMOTE.)
I want to make sure I'm making enough money off of selling this, don't want to undercut myself.. I have an offer for 200$, already.

So some people are paying more than the retail price to get a pristine "new in box" system. While "Open box" systems appear to be selling for around or under retail price. What is the actual selling price for a good condition used (BOSE SOUNDWAVE 4 WITH PEDESTAL AND REMOTE.) It's called the Wave SoundTouch IV, no one really knows what the price is now. The only real idea would be to look at what others have sold it for using the eBay Sold Items listing. Some standard Wave IV's show up (no SoundTouch pedestal) in that listing as do broken ones, so be careful when judging prices. I want to make sure I'm making enough money off of selling this, don't want to undercut myself.. I have an offer for 200$, already. I will say that $200 does seem to be quite a fair bit under what others have sold it for. Even the pedestal alone has sold for more than that. It seems that most have sold between $400-$600, with a few reaching in the thousands. It all depends on the condition, information, & photos provided in the listing.

I've owned one of these for about 4 years. The CD player stopped being able to read CDs about a year and a half in (after warranty expiration, of course). I paid about 40 bucks to get it fixed and a year later it broke again... The sound quality is pretty fantastic, and that it works as an apple airplay is so great. but the fact i can't use one of its main features is a real annoyance.
