Why am I seeing such varying prices online? I see some going got 89$, some for 300-400$ plus and some going for well over 1000-1500$ It has been discontinued. So some people are paying more than the retail price to get a pristine "new in box" system. While "Open box" systems appear to be selling for around or under retail price. What is the actual selling price for a good condition used (BOSE SOUNDWAVE 4 WITH PEDESTAL AND REMOTE.) It's called the Wave SoundTouch IV, no one really knows what the price is now. The only real idea would be to look at what others have sold it for using the eBay Sold Items listing. Some standard Wave IV's show up (no SoundTouch pedestal) in that listing as do broken ones, so be careful when judging prices. I want to make sure I'm making enough money off of selling this, don't want to undercut myself.. I have an offer for 200$, already. I will say that $200 does seem to be quite a fair bit under what others have sold it for. Even the pedestal alone has sold for more than that. In fact, the only home speaker systems on the Bose website are portable ones (not sure about CD functionality), and they all have rechargeable batteries. I absolutely don't want a battery powered unit, just one I can put on the shelf and plug it in and play music when I desire. Amazon has some used Bose Wave IV ... More on bogleheads.org

The Bose Wave System IV had an optional Bluetooth adapter available from Bose this purpose. There's one on eBay here , you may find it cheaper if you Google around. Otherwise any good Bluetooth receiver plugged into the aux jack, such as this one should do the trick. More on reddit.com

I hope so. They're not even worth it at $499 let alone $599. 2000's technology, no physical buttons, so you're a slave to the remote. You have to buy an FM antenna separately as well as a bluetooth adapter. Even then, the audio quality from the bluetooth adapter will sound mediocre on the system. I prefer the sound of the Home Speaker 500 better and that speaker is cheaper than the Wave at $379. More on reddit.com

I've owned one of these for about 4 years. The CD player stopped being able to read CDs about a year and a half in (after warranty expiration, of course). I paid about 40 bucks to get it fixed and a year later it broke again... The sound quality is pretty fantastic, and that it works as an apple airplay is so great. but the fact i can't use one of its main features is a real annoyance.
