I would take public transportation to shopping destinations outside the (walkable) downtown shopping area if seeking Boxing Day sales. The transit system will be crowded, but parking lots are best avoided on Boxing Day. Richmond Centre, mentioned in post #2, is serviced by the Canada Line.
