Any thoughts on Britax car seat?
Britax Swivel in USA?
Are discontinued car seats safe? / Anyone know why the Britax Boulevard was discontinued?
car seat decision
Both of them pass the same safety standards in the US so both are quite safe. Personally, assuming you can get a good install in your car for both, I’d go with the Clel Foonf which has a higher rearfacing limit so should allow you to keep your kid rearfacing longer.
More on reddit.comI am planning to buy Britax one4life for our nanny's car during this holiday season. We have a toddler and would be using it as rear facing to begin with. Anyone currently using it or has experience with it in the past?
- how easy or difficult is the installation?
- is it a sturdy seat? I tried a less expensive option (safety first) initially and it did not last 6 months. It was disappointing to see that all the fabric came apart and the seat is unstable. Also, our nanny complains that the child is very uncomfortable in it.
- is it a good seat for a newborn in future?
- any other all-in-one seats that are comparable or greatly recommended?
I ran a cursory check online and on Britax’s website and couldn’t see definitively if Britax plans to release a rotating seat in the US. Any of you know something I don’t- whether I can realistically hope for a Britax rotating seat in the USA in the next few years?
Hi FTD here,
I have an unopened Britax Boulevard that I bought right before it was discontinued because my research at the time showed it was highly recommended, and I wanted to get it while I still could even though I don't need it just yet for my LO.
As the title states, are discontinued car seats safe to use? I assume the answer is yes, but as I don't know why it was discontinued, if it is due to something safety related then that would be a concern. Which leads into my second title question of if anyone knows why the Britax Boulevard was discontinued? I know it was replaced with the Poplar S which has a higher rear facing weight limit, rebound bar, and thinner design to fit 3 wide; but other than the new features, is there a negative reason why the Boulevard was discontinued?
Bonus question: with black Friday coming up, I think now would be a good time to buy a replacement convertible car seat if I were to buy a different one. The 2 other seats I'm currently looking at as a replacement, if I were to replace, are either the Chicco Next Fit Zip or the Nuna Rava. Anyone have any insight into these 2 plus the Boulevard?
Thanks!
