We only have one car so haven't had to move it between cars but we have had to take it out and reinstall several times and it's not too bad. ... I have two under two, and they both have used britax infant and now the marathon convertible. My younger babe uses the clicktight and the older one has the marathon sans the clicktight option. Britax one4life clicktight installation question for in a classic car.
There are instructions in your manual for a lap belt only. You’d have to talk to a body shop who knows classic cars on whether the car is structurally sound enough to have seatbelts installed. The seatbelts need to be mounted somewhere that can take crash forces, and that car wasn’t built with that in mind. Definitely only rear face in this car with your child. They cannot use a booster in it. So they can ride in it as long as they rear face. I would feel remiss if I also didn’t point out that the car is unsafe for adults. I simply want you to have this information to use as you want to travel in it. No crumple zone. No airbags. No upper body protection with a shoulder belt. No headrests to protect the spine as it rebounds back. If the belts are nearly 70 years old I’d make sure they had no prior crashes that would stretch them and make them potentially pointless in another collision. If the belts aren’t nearly 70 years old, were they installed in a way that will actually help, or just in a way to make the car road legal (those are not the same thing). Hi,
I know theoretically the safest seat is a well installed seat but looking for an opinion on the Grow with you clicktight vs the plus:
The plus has an extra layer of cushioning —thoughts on this adding any layer of safety?
Looking to trade in an old seat to target during the trade in , but of course they don’t sell the plus version!
This is for use in a secondary vehicle, he is still rear facing in a rava in our other car but the secondary vehicle is smaller and less well rated in crash tests then our other car so maybe anything helps.
Also was leaving towards clicktight as it will be an easier install for his school on field trips , and I think is more compatible with different cars in future over the chicco myfit.

Make sure even for field trips that his top tether is done up. Otherwise I’d move his rear facing Rava.

Hi FTD here,
I have an unopened Britax Boulevard that I bought right before it was discontinued because my research at the time showed it was highly recommended, and I wanted to get it while I still could even though I don't need it just yet for my LO.
As the title states, are discontinued car seats safe to use? I assume the answer is yes, but as I don't know why it was discontinued, if it is due to something safety related then that would be a concern. Which leads into my second title question of if anyone knows why the Britax Boulevard was discontinued? I know it was replaced with the Poplar S which has a higher rear facing weight limit, rebound bar, and thinner design to fit 3 wide; but other than the new features, is there a negative reason why the Boulevard was discontinued?
Bonus question: with black Friday coming up, I think now would be a good time to buy a replacement convertible car seat if I were to buy a different one. The 2 other seats I'm currently looking at as a replacement, if I were to replace, are either the Chicco Next Fit Zip or the Nuna Rava. Anyone have any insight into these 2 plus the Boulevard?

September 25, 2017 - I don't love the clicktight feature, you have to have just the right amount of slack for it to work, not enough and it won't click, too much and it's not right enough. I would rather just use the tethers. We use our chicco nextfit and it's clearly much more comfortable for him, especially his legs. In his britax infant seat we had to make sure his shorts were pulled down so the straps didn't pinch and with the chicco he doesn't even need pants and it's still so comfy on his legs
