End my decision paralysis: Britax Poplar vs. One4Life vs. BabyJogger City car seat.
Coming from a mom of three that’s bought literally every car seat out there… Any other passengers in back? What kind of car? Without that info I vote Britax poplar. We had the britax boulevard clicktight which is essentially the poplar but an “old version”. It was one of my favorite seats ever. My kids liked it and they were in it until about 4 when I transitioned them to a combination seat and passed it down to my younger one. It’s slim front to back and side to side. Has an optional anti rebound bar, is super simple to install, and easy to adjust. The one4life is bulky and you’ll need another car seat anyway. Boosters are cheap and a dedicated booster will be way less bulky that a 3 in 1 or an “all in one”. The baby jogger city turn car seat is also super bulky and can only turn while rear facing. The turning is a convenience and if you have a smaller vehicle that’s probably what I’d get just for convenience. But if you have a lot of headspace or an SUV you can get away with a non turning seat. I have a Tahoe and bought a revv for baby and keep forgetting to turn it. I feel so silly for buying it because it’s super expensive and I have so much headspace that I can lift baby in and out without issue. You need to measure the width of the vehicle seat and the width of the One4Life Slim base, Britax doesn’t allow side overhang. If the base fits, it will fit. I expected to hate the Poplar harness pads and I don’t. They’re fine. More on reddit.com

Please check out NZ Car seat discussion group on Facebook. You’ll probably have more responses there . We have a boulevard and a one-4-life (weight limit 54kg) as our main seats. The idea is the younger child uses the one4life until the older grows out of the boulevard, and then they swap. Then once the younger child grows out of the boulevard, they get the one-4-life again and hopefully by that time, the older child won’t need a harnessed seat/can just sit in the car normally. We are out of infant stage and are debating the pros and cons of the multitude of options now available on the market. If you have either of these- do you love them, have regrets, or other comments? Please help me decide!

Can a Britax One4Life Slim fit in the middle seat of the second row bench in wide mode of a 2024 Honda Odyssey? Looking to move my 11m old to a convertible. She sits side by side with my almost 4yr old (38 lbs, 40 inches) RF in a Nuna Rava. I prefer a FR free seat and keeping the kids right next to each other to allow for an adult in 2P. I don't like that the Poplar has non-removeable harness pads and prefer a FR free seat so the Slim3LX is out if I stick w that. Also considering a Myfit for the oldest and giving the Rava to the baby if that would fit better.
