As both someone with a Mid-Atlantic American accent who's been exposed to an extreme diversity of accents, and as someone very interested in linguistics, I find it very interesting that fundamental everyday words have the most variation. This word is pronounced at least 5 different ways in my extended family alone.

As an American, I remember having Scottish exchange students in my school and kids would get a kick out of asking them to say "water bottle" 😆 (For those less familiar with Scottish accents, the t's are all glottal stops and the r is dropped and the l in bottle is barely pronounced)
