Long wait times for parts, contractors sometimes can't make sense of them, they're bs. We got a brizo for our master, both shower and tub filler, over $3k for the pair, and it's cheap junk, imo.

hello! I am a homeowner seeking opinions from plumbers on Kohler vs Hansgrohe products (valves, controls, and trim kits) for shower, bath, and sink faucets--the shiny chrome and parts seen and unseen (I am not asking about toilets, sinks, tubs, etc.)
I've been reading online that--for the most part--Kohler still manufactures many of its components in the US and assembles these finished products in the US; I've also read that Kohler has a good warranty and is good to deal with when need replacements in later years.
I've also read that Hansgrohe products are of a higher quality than Grohe, but that both of these companies' products are primarily assembled in Asia (or Mexico) from components manufactured in Asia (or Mexico). I've read that both of these companies have limited warranties of 5 years or so.
So I'm writing to ask for your opinions or experiences with either Kohler or Hansgrohe shower/tub controls, shower heads, etc. I have read posts here on this sub that say that Kohler stinks now, or that Hansgrohe isn't worth the money...
I'm really curious what professionals who have recently installed these think; I've already heard a lot from employees in fancy design stores. Quality, warranty, longevity?? Thanks so much!

Delta or Brizo. High quality and very easy to service, parts all made in the US. However if you have your heart set on these two, I'd probably pick Kohler. Parts are more widely accessible and Kohler will warrant parts easily, however I've had many issues with them sending out incorrect parts. In addition, Kohler is usually hard to service because their designs are simply harder to get apart and slightly more complex. This is why I prefer Delta/Brizo.

This is a tough place to be in. I was here 4 years ago when remodeling my front house, and am back at it remodeling my back house. In the front house, we went with Hansgrohe and did thermostatic valves for both showers. This was mostly based on liking their aesthetic more than the others. For the back house, this will be a rental and I'm not sure I want to invest the same money into thermostatic valves, but am looking at all of these brands wondering which will last the longest. I'd rather not think about the valve in the wall for a very, very long time.

I've had good luck with Kallista that is made by Kohler. Basically no questions asked, they'll send you out a new part, even decades later. Brizo is a high end line that Delta has, and uses a lot of the same parts like the cartridges that you'll always be able to easily get a hold of.

Brizo is Delta's luxury label (DXV is American Standard's luxury label) Delta and Kohler both have good reputations for durability, parts availability, etc. Stay far, far away from Price Pfister. Several warranty experiences with them and all were bad.

I’d advise against both. They’re both a nightmare to repair.

Grohe faucets are amazing and beautiful. They are also incredibly expensive to buy and hard to repair. I live in a large city and no supply houses carry parts, they all have to be ordered. Even the supply houses that are distributors don't stock parts generally. So a lot of them get replaced just because people can't wait a week to have a working kitchen faucet. I almost bought one a while back, but the supply house owner actually talked me out of it due to this. On the other hand, if you love the faucet just buy it and if it has issues you can always throw a $30 faucet from lowes in while waiting for the parts to arrive.
