Hi guys, Looking at a new printer as mine has died in the arse.
Considering the Brother MFC-L8390CDW
I can get it for $499 AUD which i'm happy to pay as it has the main features i'm after (max price)
-LASER
-Colour
-Duplex
-Double sided Scanning (not essential, but nice)
-512mb (current printer has 128mb and bombs out all the time)
-Cheap to run
-Kids growing up, so will be printing lots
now my wife has dropped the bomb on me and said that she would like to do the Print T-shirt transfer paper and from what i can figure out, ( Most heat transfer print solutions use laser or LED four-color process printers with self-weeding laser transfer media. )
Can someone confirm that this will do it? (i'll get it lots of trouble if i drop this much into a printer and wife doesnt get what she wants)
overall, is this a good, reliable printer?
thanks for the input
I am finally moving on from HP 479fdw. That is a good printer but I can't stand HP business practices like preventing me to use compatible toners, forcing me to use cloud and preventing me from local scanning. I got this MFC-L8390CDW, so far:
Positive: -It works -Was easy to install -Brother did not try to force many junkware during install -Rather straight to the point tools, which work -Working app on Android without cloud garbage mandatory (its option) -Printing quality seems decent
Negative: -I had to untick a few "send data" to brother -The on printer screen looks a bit ugly and outdated -It seems a bit slower to start printing (I haven't printed lot of pages yet) -it seems the scanner is smaller than my HP but maybe its an impression...I mesure it seems hardly one or two centimetres shorter from the glass. -It seems there is more parts which needs replacing (like waste...)
I think I'm satisfied although I would need more time to use it to have a final opinion. Its good, a shame its not a tiny bit more refined (ex UI) because it would feel even better.
So I can get either of this printers with discount, I'm a very sporadic printer, but when I print, I usually tend to do above 100 pages.
I've got an old HP multifuncional printer with more than 10 years but it's software is now non operational (flash is gone yey) and I don't use my ink cartridges enough for them to not dry/clog.
I scan documents frequently, it needs to have wired connection to comply with my current network setup.
I've reached to these models because I've hear good things about brother printers but I'm open to other solutions, the only caveat is the printer needs to be sold in Europe and by ease of discount from Amazon.
Please help me decide, thank you.
Hi guys, after exclusively using HP inkjet printers — and now having our third one break down — I’ve decided to switch to a laser printer. While browsing online, I found these two offers that seem interesting, especially with the cashback. I’m not familiar with the different Brother models; which one would you recommend? We do need duplex scanning (double-sided scanning), by the way.
