TLDR: I would recommend the Buffy breeze duvet insert but not the sheet set or duvet cover.
Well I wanted to post a review somewhere since Buffy won’t let me post a review to their website, which I find to be quite dishonest; their reviews are definitely curated to only show 5 star reviews. I was initially drawn in by the promise of cooling bedding and went forward with purchasing because of their sustainability goals. I ended up buying their duvet insert, duvet cover, & sheet set which I have used for a few months now.
Duvet (Breeze) insert review:
-
positives: plush, more cooling than my feather duvet, ideal for spring & fall weather
-
negatives: still sleep hot & would probably be better off with a thin quit or blanket
Duvet cover review:
-
positives: soft
-
negatives: improper sizing (too much material so it does not fit the insert; they say it will shrink but I have washed & dried it at least 5 times and it has not shrank a bit), extreme static when you take it out of the dryer
Sheets review:
-
positives: soft
-
negatives: improper sizing (the top sheet is too small), elastic for fitted sheet does not work properly so it does not stay put during the night & bunches ups A LOT (Target sheets have better elastic), extreme static from dryer
I’ve had mine since September of 2019 and have genuinely loved it (totally agree about the duvet cover being awkwardly larger and having loose fabric just hanging around) but the Breeze itself has been lovely. I’ve always dry cleaned it but was so sick of the process I said fuck it and threw it in the wash and the inside material has separated and now there are giant holes in the material. Obviously it’s my fault for not following the wash guidelines but I’ve never seen materials react like this. Super disappointed but just putting it out there that it absolutely is dry clean only…
I own the Buffy cloud and I gotta say, even though it’s sooo soft and fluffy, it’s just way too damn hot. I was hoping the Breeze would be the solution, but sad to see it’s also too hot. I’ve had my Buffy cloud for over a year now.
On the hunt for summer bedding on Reddit, but while here, I recommend a tailor! I imagine it would be an easy fix.

I usually fall asleep cold--especially with cold feet--and wake up hot and sweaty to kick off my socks. Even though I'm hot, I can't lower my blanket because I'm so sweaty I would get chilled immediately. Originally, I was using bamboo sheets with a loose-weave cotton blanket and whatever other blankets I happened to have piled on top of it.
I bought a Buffy Cloud duvet insert and a linen duvet cover. I LOVE the feel of the combo. It's so fluffy and cushy with a nice outer texture. I go to sleep warm...and wake up hot and sweaty (better than the prior setup). I no longer use a top sheet.
I thought about using the Buffy Breeze, but it doesn't seem as fluffy. Same with silk duvet inserts.
Has anyone else used a similar combo? Any experience with both the Cloud and Breeze? I wish I could change nothing and also not wake up hot...
I'm seriously tired of waking up sweaty. I've tried cooling sheets from Target, lightweight linen sets, and bamboo once but nothing seems to really keep me cool through the night.
I have seen Buffy mentioned in a few places online about the best bedding for hot sleepers. Seems expensive but maybe worth it ? The eucalyptus sheets and duvet come up a lot. The reviews online look good but I wanted to check if anyone here has personal experience, especially if you tend to sleep warm.
Do the sheets actually breathe well and help with temperature or is it marketing? Any Buffy bedding reviews from fellow sweaty sleepers would be great.
I am losing my mind trying to decide where to buy a new duvet insert. I feel like a lot of the new bedding companies all end up on review lists that are “pay to play.” I am looking for something cooling but also as fluffy as it can be (while still being cooling). I bought the Brooklinen Down All-Season, but at 90” wide, it’s SUPER short for our normal (not California) king, as in, it only falls an inch and a half off the sides of the bed. It’s decently fluffy, but I’m wondering if there’s something better.
Max price is around $400. Any recs are much appreciated!
We have the Buffy Breeze, which is cooling for sure, but we are underwhelmed with how thin it is (it is also a bit smaller than our duvet cover, so it slides a bit). We were hoping to get some recs for comforters that are full and fluffy (bonus if oversized - we have a King duvet cover) without having to sacrifice too much in the temperature department, since I run hot.
I know that's a tough combo to find but I'm struggling to find any good products 😬. For example, I saw this, which sounds good, but I'm not sure how reputable or reliable the reviews are... https://luxome.com/products/climasense-comforter?variant=40039052279869&_gsid=1v1LiExN6NiW&utm_source=chatgpt.com
Any advice would be super helpful, thanks all!
Okay so maybe this is silly but i randomly saw someone mention their buffy bedding sheets in another thread and first thought of the tv show lol. Had to check google for buffy BEDDING reviews and was actually a little surprised it's a legit company lol but then it got me wondering if their stuff is worth it since my partner sleeps so hot (whole point i was looking up sheets to begin with)
Buffy sheets and stuff looks really soft and the all-natural angle / natural dyes sounds nice. Has anyone tried the Buffy duvet or comforter? Just trying to figure out if the quality is good, how the shipping is, and if it's really worth the hype. Would love to hear what people think.
It seems they're using some generic lyocell fabric now similar to what I've purchased on Amazon. I have numerous Breeze sheet sets from over the years, and the unique texture which those have is completely gone now. Their new "Breeze" fabric is some thick, shiny material that seems to be coming from a drop shipper. I don't know if they got bought or made a deal with some generic sheet manufacturer out of China, but just know that if you liked Buffy stuff from a year or more ago, what they're selling now is not the same stuff. Avoid.
Also, if you call to return it (and you have to call) there's just a busy signal. Either they're a scam company now, or absolutely everyone is getting these crap sheets and is trying to schedule a return.
Looking for recs for a nice cooling king size comforter.
My husband and I are roasting each other.
Looking to spend upwards of $250-300
Thanks in advance!
I have a Buffy duvet & cover that I got for Christmas. I am getting ready to switch it out for a lighter blanket for the summer months.
I love the Buffy duvet but the cover, while super soft, is very lackluster. The sizing is terrible - my old Ikea duvet looked better than this. I find that pretty inexcusable especially considering the price they charge.
My main question - has anyone else gotten the Buffy & used a non-Buffy brand duvet? Looking to get a different one prior to the winter so I won't have to use the big baggy Buffy cover again. What brands do you recommend? Was it a success?
TLDR at the bottom (sorry for the saga)
This is part PSA, part cry for help. I appreciate anyone's thoughts!
It's a very long and frustrating story, but the gist is I purchased a cloud comforter from Buffy in mid October which was suddenly "sold out" immediately after I bought even though it said it would be delivered within 3-5 days.
They charged my credit card within a week of the initial purchase and gave me the runaround for nearly 2 months (multiple backorder periods, shipments that never reached the carrier, inability to cancel the order, etc). Eventually I had to go to my credit card company to get my money back.
What I'm looking for is a mid-warmth, king sized, solid-colored comforter that can be machine washed.
I don't have any allergies and have no budget constraints I'd just like to not have to deal with a duvet cover.
TLDR: don't fall for Buffy. Is there a solid-colored, machine washable comforter out there?
I want to change up my duvet. I love my duvet cover from coop which tencel. I want something nice and cooling inside that cover. I’m looking at the following in no particular order:
-
thx silk 7a grade silk comforter 2)Buffy breeze comforter
-
cozy earth bamboo viscose comforter
-
cozy earth silk comforter
-
nest bedding silk cloud comforter
Would love some feedback from hot sleepers who have one of these or something else that is awesome!
I bought the comforter for the same reason most do -- having a little more coverage when the weather cools down -- but not something that retains too much heat. I can't speak to that feature yet, but I just got into bed with the Buffy Breeze for the first time and I was struck by how lumpy it is. It's like I can feel all of these dozens of little clumps of the stuffing rather than one uniform, soft feel. Any other Breeze owners? Does this sound similar to your experience? I'm going to give it a night or two, but, otherwise, I think I'll be returning it.
If you were shopping for an alternative to the Buffy Breeze, what other comforters would be on your shortlist?
I love a puffy comforter and can use my Parachute puff comforter one year-round thanks to AC—but my husband overheats and ends up drenched in sweat (and mad, lol). He won’t kick it off in his sleep either.
We’ve tried the Scandinavian method—he uses a light quilt, I use the big comforter—but it’s not ideal. It’s uncomfortable for me and looks terrible on the bed. I also have some neurosensory tendencies and can’t sleep with a thin quilt or anything that’s not puffy—need that cozy comforter feel.
Anyone found a good middle-ground blanket for couples like us?
Hey guys, we've owned the Brooklinen bedsheets and Buffy Breeze Comforter for over a year now. We made a review video to document our experience. Overall they're pretty good and would recommend for hot sleepers! Feel free to ask me anything!
I want to try both the Cloud and the Breeze but obviously would only keep one
Hi I would like to get some recommendations for bedding (sheets) and duvet insert/comforter.
I'm a hot sleeper and have been using cheaper products, really in need of an upgrade. I keep hearing about Brooklinen percale for bedding and buffy breeze for comforter. Is it really worth the hype ? Appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone tried both? I find the Breeze to be slightly too warm and wondered if the Sijo Airyweight Comforter might be a bit lighter.
