I'm seriously tired of waking up sweaty. I've tried cooling sheets from Target, lightweight linen sets, and bamboo once but nothing seems to really keep me cool through the night.
I have seen Buffy mentioned in a few places online about the best bedding for hot sleepers. Seems expensive but maybe worth it ? The eucalyptus sheets and duvet come up a lot. The reviews online look good but I wanted to check if anyone here has personal experience, especially if you tend to sleep warm.
Do the sheets actually breathe well and help with temperature or is it marketing? Any Buffy bedding reviews from fellow sweaty sleepers would be great.

TLDR at the bottom (sorry for the saga)
This is part PSA, part cry for help. I appreciate anyone's thoughts!
It's a very long and frustrating story, but the gist is I purchased a cloud comforter from Buffy in mid October which was suddenly "sold out" immediately after I bought even though it said it would be delivered within 3-5 days.
They charged my credit card within a week of the initial purchase and gave me the runaround for nearly 2 months (multiple backorder periods, shipments that never reached the carrier, inability to cancel the order, etc). Eventually I had to go to my credit card company to get my money back.
What I'm looking for is a mid-warmth, king sized, solid-colored comforter that can be machine washed.
I don't have any allergies and have no budget constraints I'd just like to not have to deal with a duvet cover.
TLDR: don't fall for Buffy. Is there a solid-colored, machine washable comforter out there?
TLDR: I would recommend the Buffy breeze duvet insert but not the sheet set or duvet cover.
Well I wanted to post a review somewhere since Buffy won’t let me post a review to their website, which I find to be quite dishonest; their reviews are definitely curated to only show 5 star reviews. I was initially drawn in by the promise of cooling bedding and went forward with purchasing because of their sustainability goals. I ended up buying their duvet insert, duvet cover, & sheet set which I have used for a few months now.
Duvet (Breeze) insert review:
-
positives: plush, more cooling than my feather duvet, ideal for spring & fall weather
-
negatives: still sleep hot & would probably be better off with a thin quit or blanket
Duvet cover review:
-
positives: soft
-
negatives: improper sizing (too much material so it does not fit the insert; they say it will shrink but I have washed & dried it at least 5 times and it has not shrank a bit), extreme static when you take it out of the dryer
Sheets review:
-
positives: soft
-
negatives: improper sizing (the top sheet is too small), elastic for fitted sheet does not work properly so it does not stay put during the night & bunches ups A LOT (Target sheets have better elastic), extreme static from dryer
I’ve had mine since September of 2019 and have genuinely loved it (totally agree about the duvet cover being awkwardly larger and having loose fabric just hanging around) but the Breeze itself has been lovely. I’ve always dry cleaned it but was so sick of the process I said fuck it and threw it in the wash and the inside material has separated and now there are giant holes in the material. Obviously it’s my fault for not following the wash guidelines but I’ve never seen materials react like this. Super disappointed but just putting it out there that it absolutely is dry clean only…
I own the Buffy cloud and I gotta say, even though it’s sooo soft and fluffy, it’s just way too damn hot. I was hoping the Breeze would be the solution, but sad to see it’s also too hot. I’ve had my Buffy cloud for over a year now.
On the hunt for summer bedding on Reddit, but while here, I recommend a tailor! I imagine it would be an easy fix.
My partner gets hot in his sleep but he's one of those people that needs to sleep with a blanket. If cooling comforters are a thing, can anyone recommend a good one? Preferably under $150 for a queen size
Hey all,
I bought the Buffy Breeze comforter along with their duvet cover. It’s been a year of struggling with this duvet cover, it’s soo baggy that the comforter is constantly moving around inside. Any suggestions on an alternative duvet cover that would fit? The size is full/queen, 90x90.
I want to try both the Cloud and the Breeze but obviously would only keep one
I recently bought the Buffy Cloud Comforter and I’m looking for a duvet cover to go along with it. I was originally looking into getting either the Brooklinen Luxe duvet cover or the Brooklinen Heathered Cashmere duvet cover, but after reading some of the reviews on Reddit and otherwise I’m getting a little nervous to spend so much on something that’s going to be bad quality. The comforter is 90x90, I’m looking for a snug fit in the duvet cover, would really like for it to not slip out. I’d like a comforter that is very soft and feels nice to snuggle in/sleep in. I’m not really worried about whether I’ll sleep cold or hot in the comforter, I just want a material that feels really nice against my skin. I would prefer something that doesn’t end up looking too wrinkly after some use but it’s not the top priority. I’d prefer a duvet cover that doesn’t pill too badly, or one that has a solution for the pilling if the material is soft enough to be worth it. I don’t really mind if it’s heavy or lightweight, and I plan on sending it out to be washed (I don’t have a washing machine). My budget is around $100-150 but I’m willing to go up to $250 if the duvet cover is absolutely worth it.
Please let me know if you have recommendations!
EDIT: I’m not looking for a linen duvet cover, looking for something softer than that!
I just bought one of these as I liked how eco friendly it was, also seemed to be one of the better down alternative comforters. Does anyone have any experience with these?
I usually fall asleep cold--especially with cold feet--and wake up hot and sweaty to kick off my socks. Even though I'm hot, I can't lower my blanket because I'm so sweaty I would get chilled immediately. Originally, I was using bamboo sheets with a loose-weave cotton blanket and whatever other blankets I happened to have piled on top of it.
I bought a Buffy Cloud duvet insert and a linen duvet cover. I LOVE the feel of the combo. It's so fluffy and cushy with a nice outer texture. I go to sleep warm...and wake up hot and sweaty (better than the prior setup). I no longer use a top sheet.
I thought about using the Buffy Breeze, but it doesn't seem as fluffy. Same with silk duvet inserts.
Has anyone else used a similar combo? Any experience with both the Cloud and Breeze? I wish I could change nothing and also not wake up hot...
Ok, so I saw a video of the fluffiest bed ever and I’ve been searching the web to figure out the trick behind it! No luck in finding and it seems every duvet insert I’ve ever had just stays flat most of the time.
What duvet insert/ duvet cover combo could achieve that look!
Also, are they very warm? My husband and I are very warm sleepers so I need something cooling..
Search terms or links would be so appreciated!
Best way to wash buffy comforter? the website says i should get it dry cleaned but i was wondering if that is actually necessary. thank you!
Does anyone use the buffy cloud without the duvet cover and just wash it weekly? My husband hates duvet covers and I hate top sheets.
Has anyone else ordered sheets/duvet covers from Buffy and they send you an email along the lines of, “oh no! We JUST sold out of the color you bought but we still have these three colors that we have had in stock for years that no one seems to want! If you want to wait for the color you ordered, it will be ready in 3 months.”??
3 months wait without warning before purchase for something that gives you a 5 day trial and they still charge you after the 5 days even if it won’t be there for 3 months?! HOW is that their business practice?
This has happened to me twice now and that color in the same size is still up for sale on the website as I type this. Last time it happened, waited because I really wanted the sheets but this time I’m canceling my whole order which is a shame bc I love their sheets.
If they are going to dye the sheets after the order is made, why can’t Buffy let us buy any color for any size duvet or sheets?? What’s the point of updating the available colors on the website or preventing consumers from buying the “out of stock” colors if the site is never accurate?
Very curious if others have had a similar experience.
Mostly wondering if anyone has the same issues. I purchased the Buffy comforter last year and now less than a year later the top part of the filling has already broken apart and started balling up. We’ve never washed it in the machine and only took it to the dry cleaners twice in that amount of time.
Anyone else have issues with the comforters?
I just ordered from Buffy, I got the cloud comforter in heirloom silver. It came, but the color looks completely different than the photo on the site. I emailed them with a photo and they assured me that it’s correct, that it’s just the lighting. I feel like a crazy person. My teenage daughter laughed out loud when she saw it. My friend said it looks like a blanket from space camp in 1995. Customer service called it a “dark, cool, muted gray.” It’s not muted, it’s practically glowing. It’s super comfortable, but I hate the color and I can’t figure out on what planet this is a dark gray. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting? First photo is theirs from the site, the second two are on my bed.
I’ve come to realize that this is what will ultimately make me happiest in life. I’ll never need anything else as long as I sleep beneath the absolute fluffiest and most oversized cloud comforter.
Please send any and all recommendations as my happiness is entirely dependent on this.

Okay so maybe this is silly but i randomly saw someone mention their buffy bedding sheets in another thread and first thought of the tv show lol. Had to check google for buffy BEDDING reviews and was actually a little surprised it's a legit company lol but then it got me wondering if their stuff is worth it since my partner sleeps so hot (whole point i was looking up sheets to begin with)
Buffy sheets and stuff looks really soft and the all-natural angle / natural dyes sounds nice. Has anyone tried the Buffy duvet or comforter? Just trying to figure out if the quality is good, how the shipping is, and if it's really worth the hype. Would love to hear what people think.
