r/iphone on Reddit: Anyone have long-term experience with Burga Elite cases? Or any case recommendations for a 15PM
October 26, 2023 -

Going to be getting a 15 Pro Max soon (poor XS Max's battery is fading fast) and wanted to get something other than an Otterbox for once. I've seen lots of great cases from Spigen, Mous, Dbrand, Casely, and Velvet Caviar, but nothing that really jumped at me as a "gotta have it". I really like the backplate designs of the Burga Elite along with the gold accents, but there are more than a few things about the company that seem vaguely scammy: [on third party sites] lots of reviews from accounts with little / no other review history, the only YT reviews are very obviously scripted / sponsored content, and occasionally reports of poor quality of the prints on the actual product. Further, seeing lots of comments on the basic cases breaking or scratching fairly easily, prints peeling or fading, etc etc.

Typing it all out makes the decision pretty much made, but does anyone have some compelling personal anecdotes against the general online narrative?

If my gut feeling is right, I'll end up going elsewhere for my needs. I'm looking for a case that's got at least some level of protection and looks good, I don't particularly care if it's bulky or not, but I'm not into the looks of e.g. most UAG's "tacticool" cases or the Casetify Bounce's rather eccentric corners. For the more "basic" designs, I actually quite like the Spigen Tough Armor, if only it didn't have the logo cutout that just traps in lint etc. As for budget I'd prefer to keep it under $100 for a case, but if there's a really exceptional one I'm not opposed to paying a bit more (not quite Labodet prices, but y'know).

Thanks for any recommendations!

I have BURGA cases, actually got 2 and got 2 for my partner cause they had that 2+2 deal. So tried both Tough and Elite. Only good words about the cases - pretty and durable, maybe the shipping took a bit long but apart from that I'm happy with them and so is my partner.

Here is the review I just left on trust pilot cause I’m too bored to rewrite it: I bought an Elite Magsafe iPhone case and the minute I opened the package I knew I have to return it. The case felt cheaply made and the gold accents around the camera were made of cheap plastic. The image on the back was printed horribly and I could almost see pixels. I even took out all my old iPhone cases to compare them to Burga’s. It was the worst of all in terms of protection and quality. The same day I ordered a case from another company and tried to find Burga’s return policy. Surprisingly enough the was nothing more than an e-mail address on the page, claiming to be the way for a refund request. Of course, it seemed fishy for a “legit” company in 2024 that sells 75€ phone cases. I have e-mailed them asking them for a refund but no answer. I’m still waiting for a response. I consider my 75€ (+ express delivery fee) lost down the drain. I have never been scammed like that before. It is the first time I write a review on trust pilot because of how mad I am at this shitty company. Please make your research before buying a case from them and don’t pay attention to all the paid promotional reviews.

June 6, 2021 - I thought that they were some cheep plastic cases, but they actually feel premium. They're smooth, but don't slide easily. Idk how to describe the texture, but it allows you to grip the phone without worry about it falling out of your hand.

My partner and I have both recently bought the iPhone 15. I’ve had BURGA Tough cases with my previous iPhone 11 and loved them, but they’ve gotten SO EXPENSIVE in the past few years!! There’s lots of hype around Casetify, so I just wanted to hop on here and ask for people’s experiences with both phone case brands and see if Casetify might be worth trying out or if I should just stick with my tried-and-true BURGA cases. TIA 😊

Edit: Thanks for all the responses so far! Just for reference: we don’t pay for Apple Care and I think £40 (roughly $50) is about the max we’re willing to pay for a good protective case

Was looking at getting a Burga case. I’m a bit of a cell phone case fanatic and need to outfit my iPhone 14 PM Purple 😀. Burga came up on my feed and was wondering if anyone has personal experience with them, quality and customer service wise. They have buy 2 get 2 free now so it’s tempting.

https://us.burga.com/

Some of the cases look like they have some mineral shimmer and I was wondering if that’s just printed on or if it’s really sparkly?

How did they hold up over time?

Also looking at either an exotic MagSafe wallet or full MagSafe Case from Labodet. In case anyone has any opinions to share there :)

For reference have tried Casetify, Casemate, Spigen, Vaja, Casely, Element Case, Velvet Caviar, Otterbox, and some rando no name accessories.

Thanks in advance!

If I could've found something else with the exact same design, I would have rather bought that in a heartbeat. Even if it was made out of shit tissue paper. The quality of the case is ALRIGHT. And maybe it's because I never drop 50 bucks on phone cases, but I seriously don't think it lived up to it's value. And anyway, I didn't technically pay for this case, someone else did, and yet, it still pisses me off. The almost 4 week wait for a mediocre case is insane. You'd think they would be painstakingly painting every single fucking detail. That's another thing, when I emailed them about the wait they were just plain rude? The bottom and top of the case are too open. Which okay, that can be on me. I could've just seen that on the website. But it doesn't exactly even let me charge my phone without squeezing the damn charger in. And the last thing, it already chipped. What the fuck. It fell of my desk WHILE connected to my laptop and still scratched a corner. It's only been a day. I fucking hate this phone case. I've never even posted on Reddit before. I just needed to give my piece on this crap. Only upside is it's pretty. And that's about it.

Brought some cases at a reasonable price thinking they would arrive before my new zlip5. The phone arrived the next day and my dumb ass didn't realise the cases are shipped from Lithuania.. they should be here any day now, hoping they're worth the wait..

Side note. Love the phone. Despite the fact it's a huge down grade in camera quality from the s22ultra. I'm finding the size to be the biggest adjustment, but more than anything I'm just glad she'll fit in my smallest of clutches... hoping I don't regret this in a week from now haha!

My wife and daughters main complaint about pixel phones is that "they don't have nice cases like iphone". They found Burga last year but their cases are $49.95 per case and no free shipping unless you buy 3 cases which is ridiculous. They are cool designs but they are NOT worth the $50 per case price tag. They also take 2 weeks to ship from China. Any nice "girly/fashionable" cases for pixels elsewhere?

I got a Pixel 8 and I really like the rose gold color. I wanted to get a clear case due to that but then I read about them yellowing really quick.

I found a company called "Burga" selling really nice looking cases that look much more sturdier than the cheap pieces of plastic on Amazon but still not that sturdy + the camera isn't covered nor contains a bump. Does anyone have experience with them?

Does anyone know any pink sturdy cases? Or at least ones that aren't just a plain boring color at a reasonable price? I can sacrifice the pink if its a good design. (I know there's a rose gold spigen one but frankly they ruined it by adding the gray accents, looks bad)

I wanted the z flip 6 so badly but underestimated how hard it would be to get a quality case in my country. Ordered one from Burga. And though it doesn’t have hinge protection, the ring makes me feel a lot more secure about holding my phone on the move. It’s a thick durable case and I think it’s better than what I could get off Temu or AliExpress. It also doesn’t clip on like the Casetify one I was using and removing it is easier because I don’t feel like I’m gong to snap my phone in half just to try and take my case off.

I’m super clumsy and drop my iPhone 13 Pro a lot. I’ve used the OtterBox Commuter for 3 years and it’s protected my phone well, but I’ve never loved the look. I appreciate the raised edges and port cover, but it’s not the most stylish. I don’t want anything bulkier, and “cute” cases usually lack protection. I also don’t like all-over prints (like Casetify). I prefer a case where the design itself stands out, maybe with a bit of color. I like the style of the case in this pic, but I can’t find any info on the seller and it seems sketchy with only 5-star reviews. Any brand recommendations, or am I stuck as an OtterBox lifer?
