Hello Adrian Knelsen
Welcome to the Microsoft Community!
Thank you for your feedback. I understand that this issue is causing you distress. I noticed that you said that you would like to purchase a Windows 11 Pro license key, but unfortunately you can only upgrade by means of a digital license, you can click on the link below to see the detailed steps.

Also, regarding your question about the upgrade price, if you buy a brand new windows pro, the price is $199, and if you upgrade from home edition to pro, the price should be $99, you can click on the link below to check it out.

You are better off choosing to upgrade to the Pro version if you want to do so by purchasing a digital license from the Microsoft Store.

Hi Brian, thanks for your reply.
The discrepancy in price is just because I'm in Canada, talking about these purchases in CAD.
I understand what you're saying, my question in the long run is if I can buy a Windows 11 Pro license key for $99 USD rather than $199 USD. A specific type of Windows 11 Pro license key that is for the purpose of upgrading from home to pro.
Regards,
hey all,
i just built a new pc and need a windows 11 key to get rid of that watermark. i know the official microsoft store sells them, but the price is way higher than i expected. i keep seeing posts about windows 11 pro keys and even people asking about win 11 keys from third-party sites. some say it’s fine, others say the keys stop working or don’t activate at all.
so what’s the safest option here, is it better to go with a retail windows key, or is an oem windows 11 pro key good enough? and has anyone here actually used a windows 11 home key from an online store that worked long term?
any help or experiences would be super useful. Thanks!
Hi folks,
I'm trying to upgrade an OEM Dell for which I couldn't choose Windows Pro in my specific configuration. I'd like to completely wipe it and install Pro from ISO. The only way I could find to upgrade an OEM Home, besides buying a full retail version, is the App in the Store. I'm not sure though if that would need to be installed / bound to my MSFT account so I would have to install Home, then upgrade to Pro (i.e. I couldn't install Pro from the get-go). I could find a Pro key on Amazon.com in USD but would really like to buy within the EU.
Thanks in advance!!
P.S. I'm only planning on using it on this particular machine and I really don't want to buy a key from some re-seller with questionable licensing.
I just purchased a new windows 11 home desktop and need to upgrade to 11 pro. I was unaware that may require using a microsoft account but I would like to keep the account local. I am reading that this isn't possible. If I were to proceed to log in to MS account and following through with 11 Pro upgrade, am I able to remove the Microsoft account and revert to local account with no activation issues? Or are there any other workarounds like purchasing an 11 pro upgrade key through another retailer that doesn't require a MS account?
