@California Academy of Sciences has a fun recurring Thursday night event called Nightlife! It’s in Golden Gate Park and happens every Thursday from 6-10pm. Daytime tickets are actually more expensive than nighttime, and you can even pay a little extra for VIP to get these perks. Honestly, VIP is worth it if you want a private VIP area, cut all the lines, get two free drinks, hors d’oeuvres, 10% discount at the cafe and store, and even a free pass ($5 Value) to the Planetarium. When you enter, the first thing you need to visit is the Osher Rainforest. It’s the one exhibition that closes early at 7:45pm. It’s only adults at night and they even have a live DJ and other talented artists playing. There’s honestly so much to see and do. And don’t forget to check out Claude, the albino alligator. You gotta check it out! I'm planning on going on a date to the Academy of Science this week, and am wondering if there are any tips to get discounted tickets? The price is surprisingly high, especially compared to the other local museums, so I'm a bit worried it's out of my price range.
I am a member of the library, but unfortunately the Discover & Go passes are unavailable for all of August.
Anyone know of any other resources I should look at?

you could always get a membership -- it'll pay for itself in like two visits (if you bring a guest each time), plus the discount at the shop. agree cal academy is much more expensive than other museums. if you want to pivot to an art museum, discover & go usually has easy to get passes for the De Young and SFMOMA.
