(Make sure it’s not bawled up or tangled) 💥 Add some wool balls or tennis balls (I don’t know where my wool balls went 😑) To prevent clumping. It will fluff up the comforter. Improve airflow = dryer faster + will save you time, electricity and will extend the life of your machine. 💥 Use the TIMER setting. DO NOT USE the settings labeled for this task. (whoever made these drying options has never dried a thing in their life! 💥 It will automatically select HIGH. If not, set it to high. 💥 You only need 40 mins but you can select 60. i have a duvet insert and some pillows filled with down, alongside a winter coat as well. do i put these in the washer? will it ruin the feathers/down? what do you wash it with? do you dry it? what settings? am i condemned to the dry cleaner?

Wash it! Also, I completely disagree with the above post – you can totally tumble dry feathers! I literally do it every month. And if you live somewhere damp, and you don’t tumble a dry, you’ll have a moldy mess and you will throw away your comforter. I use tennis balls/dryer balls and a clean dry towel in there. Probably washed about eight different down comforters in my lifetime, and I just washed a very expensive down pillow and all have come out just fine. ETA: low in the dryer for 30-45 minutes and then lowest setting in the dryer until it’s puffy and dry.
